Where is the updated file ?
The standalone version (2.0.20.10) did not have this issue. Only the version downloaded by the webinstaller (2.0.20.12).
If you're using the standalone (zip) version, you're fine. If not, simply close and open hakchi a few times. Eventually it will ask to update. Check the help -> about screen, it should say version 2.0.20.13
This one works with folders but you need to reflash your custom kernel.

First, big thx to @Cluster for your tool.

I would like to ask something: can I put a game with a name as "Astérix"? The "é" won't make any issue with the system?

Absolute champion. We will need to flash original back then redump?
You can just re-flash kernel.

Where is the updated file ?
On the web, it uses web-installer.

@Cluster, do you plan (is it possible) to add frames and rewind feature using retroarch?
It's not possible without RetroArch modification.

Try it :) There is no problem with Russian and Japanese characters at least.

I suppose a good way one could save space on this is to hide all the default games, and readd them with highly compressed images and have all the games on it run through retroarch.

I noted that savestates for games running in the built in emulator are like 2mb each.
But the ones retroarch make are much smaller for some games. Well for a game like The Firemen at least.
(from 2mb per slot to 700-ish kb)

You lose a few features though doing that.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
