Yes and when you shut down your Mini in NES mode and power it on again, it boots up in NES mode right? You should then always pick NES in Hakchi2 if you want to sync games again on NES side. If you want change something on the SNES side, you must be sure that the last OS you booted up was the SNES hsqs and pick SNES in Hakchi, otherwise you will break things.

Ok, so if I install two instance of the NES "os" and modify one sto change the music, background and everything, it should be ok then, right?

You should really follow this guide and read the comments, in one of the comments it is explained that certain mods like RetroArch are shared and are working OK but other mods like UI mods are having conflicting issues.

I´m preparing a snes mini for someone else without the usb mod.
Is the console hack select + down and autofire not working anymore? Or am I using the wrong clovercon.hmod or the wrong hakchi2 (debug 2.21e dantheman)?

SNES Classic - NES Light Gun Games - USB-HOST!!!

Feasibly, using this Update, along with a USB Light Gun and CRT TV, would potentially work:)

Light Gun Support added for NES Games, using USB-HOST!!! You will need to install either of today's RetroArch Variants for 11-25-17, then use one of the two following command lines...

/bin/fceumm OR at end of argument, leave a space, then --retroarch --fceumm

I also show an alternate way of installing/uninstalling HMODS for use with USB-HOST:)

Alternately, you can use hakchi1, itself to install/uninstall HMODS! This may
be helpful to those of you who get shutdown errors when trying to do USB-HOST
Modification. To do this, navigate to the following path...

/mod/hakchi/transfer/hmod

Then, simply copy and paste the HMODS you want installed. It is recommended to
keep these to 60 Mb or less, per transfer. Delete any that you want uninstalled.
Rebuild Kernel THEN, Memboot will install/uninstall these.

Tremendous thanks again to madmonkey!

In your video you mention you don’t like to use folders at this point and prefer to keep your USB stick up to 60 games, so you can swap games in and out. Are you saying that folders are not yet reliable, is it cumbersome or is this just personal preference? Thanks.

I see, I had checked a bit before, I wonder if I use only one multiboot "UI" and modify it, because I have lots of Master System games on my NES Classic and would make a Master System theme and also Genesis on my SNES classic, I would make a Genesis theme for it using the NES firmware files.

I wonder if I just install the UI mod and edit the built in menu and then Reinstall the vanilla UI as a dualboot, the dualboot install one should remain "normal"...

Entirely personal preference. Folders work fine. You just gotta make sure all the games you add meet the requirements as far as naming, etc:)

Not quite true. He could use the script KMFD Manic provided in the readme:

#!/bin/sh

find -type f -name "*.desktop" | xargs -n1 sed -i 's#/usr/share/games/nes/kachikachi#/var/games#'
find -type f -name "*.desktop" | xargs -n1 sed -i 's#/usr/share/games#/var/games#'
find -type f -name "*.desktop" | xargs -n1 sed -i 's#/var/lib/clover/profiles/0#/var/saves#'

where do I add "pcsx"for game type?

When adding PS1 games, how can I make it so every game imported gets: bin/pcsx /var/games attached to it.
I dont want to edit over 100 ps1 games or other format games...
Edit the Line in hakchi.
100 Games are fast to edit.

Quick questions about USB Host:

1. Should we format the USB storage as FAT32?
2. Is it 100% safe to use SNESC suspend points for PSX games? Can we rely on in-game saves/save points (e.g. using typewriter on Resident Evil games)?
3. If I have set my SNESC to play with this method, what should I do if I want to play with non-USB Host? Should I uninstall everything and start from the scratch (use the kernel dumped with hakchi2 for the first time)?

Thanks!

The way a game is named "NES : Argh!!! ..." is no problem. Just don't use special characters in the filename: "argh_3exclamationmark.nes"

Do you understand the script you quoted so far, what the sed command is doing?

To 1 fat32 is at the Moment better but it should understand NTFS too.
The pro for NTFS is Files that are bigger then 4,2gb but i dont think that a Game Image for the Mini snes and retroarch ist this Big.

To 2
The quick save must use 1time then the Ingame save Work.
Before that the Ingame saves deleted when you Quit The game.
But it is Safe to use the quick save to.
And No Probs with the psx quick save until now at my Mini snes in USB mode

yes, ive used "fix" batch file to alter the game location from usr to var, but wanted to know how to use it to alter emulator file name:

is it as easy as this?

#!/bin/sh

find -type f -name "*.desktop" | xargs -n1 sed -i 's#/bin/pbp#/bin/pcsx#'
find -type f -name "*.desktop" | xargs -n1 sed -i 's#/usr/share/games#/var/games#'
find -type f -name "*.desktop" | xargs -n1 sed -i 's#/var/lib/clover/profiles/0#/var/saves#'

Yes, absolutely, that is what I would have tried.
Just look at the desktop file that gets created when you import a psx game and then compare it with what you want to have and put that as replacement in the sed command.
If you already changed the directory structure, then uncomment the other lines of the script with # in the beginning of the line. Since they don´t need to run again.

Or you can just put both together in one line:
find -type f -name "*.desktop" | xargs -n1 sed -i 's#/bin/pbp /usr/share#/bin/pcsx /var#'
