An ignorant person said that this video is edited...:gun:

If someone want to check that isn't a lie this is the extra RARE japanese version of Star Wars by Lucasfilm published by Victor (no the Namco's one) found in goodness 3.23

I am also curious if legend of link will have issues on nes classic, anybody played far enough to know?

I'm going to continue adding roms tonight, I'm at 135 now with boxarts, but 0 thumbnails and am curious to see what the limit is..

I also can't wait to play with the upcoming build!!!!

I really want to know about Legend of Link as well! Curious to hear when (or if) people start experiencing issues in the game. I would hope it just renders certain parts garbled like the scroll screen, as opposed to crashing the game outright, but I guess time will tell. Regarding the game-count, check out this thread if you haven't already:

/u/soulctcher has done some great work there. The most notable piece, in my opinion, is the fact that the original 30 games take up 106 of the 242 available image asset slots--whereas games we add manually would use two slots (or one slot if you're only loading box art without thumbnails). In my case, I have added 41 games (with box art and thumbnails) on top of the original 30. So that means I have 54 available save slots to use among the 71 games. (242 slots - 106 image assets for the original 30 games - 82 image assets for the additional 41 games = 54 slots remaining for saves)

No, it appears only when in FEL mode. I can get it to appear, and get it in FEL mode, but hackchi2 is unresponsive.

Well, was able to get it to work using my MacBook Air and the instructions for Virtual Machine & Mac.. Thanks for those instructions, as they work perfectly.

Anyone experiment with hiding a few of the included games and how this impacts the amount of save slots? i.e. if you have a total of 75 but that includes 2 hidden pre-loaded, is your total really 77?

Does hiding select pre-loaded games remove the thumbnail bar altogether?

I want to give this a go at the weekend on my MacBook. I'm ok...ish at computer stuff and following instructions. Is there anything I should know that's not already in the instructions, like is it fairly simple to do?. Do I need a windows Key or anything for the virtual machine?
Thanks in advance

It depends on what iso you use. If you use a legit iso you will need a win key

Don't got any iso or any windows disc etc as never needed before. So Ahhemmm, is there downloadable copies floating about on the tinternet? Would they be safe to use? :D

I can't put more than 20 games, any 20 games!
Even with none of the original 30, I tried everything!
If 20 or more games flashed it will give a C8 error at boot...

Do you have any save states for the games? Because I have heard that save states are kept even when you hide games--they just stay on the system.

OK I just took it up to 160 games with boxarts, no thumbnails, and everything running great. i also loaded the legend of link to test, it launches fine but when u start a game it gets a c7 error early in the game. I'm running the latest build of the legend of link hack that came out last week

I had 6 or 7 savestates but if a new kernel is installed and I have no original game selected, shouldn't the savestates be gone from the NES also?

Hmmm. Six or seven should not make a difference. I would restore the original kernel, download the latest hakchi2 and extract into a new file location, then use the newly installed hakchi2 to dump the kernel and start over. Beyond that, you'll need feedback from someone with more expertise than me.

Nice! Let's see how high we can get that number:)

That sucks about Legend of Link. I was dying to play it on the NES Classic. Hopefully there's a way around it, but right now it looks like we're out of luck.

Just an update when I shut down now with 160 games and no saves I do get a c8 error. I restarted and everything appears fine, I also can save games while the console is on, so I'm not sure if I've hit the ceiling or not. prior to this with 135 games I never saw this error message.

I've used only the latest 2.0.0.8 version.
I've used the "uninstall" feature many times so to restore everything on the NES mini.
That way the error is gone, all 30 original games are there, then start the hakchi process from the beginning... it never lets me have more than 20 non-original games!

Strange. I was suggesting starting fresh with a clean install of hakchi2.08 and a new directory. If that isn't working then you'll probably need to archive the whole folder and send it to clusterm or someone else who can take a look. I do not have those skills :)

So did you get rid of all the original 30 or just add whichever games back out of the original 30 you wanted to keep and then delete the thumbnails?
