Gaming Hacking a psp 1000

Hey guys. Just a quick question, about hacking the psp. So I bought a psp3001 and spent a fair share of time trying to hack it and finally gave up. I bought a phat psp 1000 in hopes of hacking that much easier. So I bought it and found out that it had ofw 6.20. Almost everywhere I look, people say that it's no good and you need a pandora battery. So tell me, is there really no way to softmod the phat psp 1000 without a pandora battery? Thanks!

Nope....If it's on OFW 6.20 you need a Pandora. Just visit DealExtreme....

There's a HEN (Homebrew Enabler) coming out for 6.20, but it might not come out for a while (the time frame is "before Christmas"), and it'll only play homebrew, not official PSP/PSX games... though somebody might make an ISO/CSO (official game) loader for it, I'd just get the battery since a fully-hacked PSP is preferable.

They're only like $7 online anyways.

actually, since it's a complete HEN it should be possible to just run a CFW installer through it just like with the 5.03 HEN.
there are some guides for that, they are for the 5.03 HEN but other than the booting of the HEN it would be no different.

Regardless, whilst in theory the UNRELEASED HEN should work to install CFW on 6.20, it's important to note it's UNRELEASED with no firm date to go public! A Pandora battery is both cheap and a nice thing to have.
