Gaming Hack without Pandora's battery.

I apologize if this has been answered before but Google wasn't much of a good place to look for me.
I want personal answers on how to hack a PSP 1001 without using a pandora's battery.

From what I understand it has to be on 3.5 or something like that.
any higher and you NEED the battery.

But I read that you can downgrade your firmware and my firmware is I think 6.10.

Downgrading from 6.1 requires a pandora battery.
Hacking without a pandora battery includes 5.03 or lower firmware that you can upgrade to 5.03 with, ChickHen, Hellcat's Recovery Flasher, and a hackable PSP. You don't meet the requirements so you can't do this.

Okay so my friend has a Japanese PSP 1000 and it has a firmware of 3.95
Can the hack still work considering it is a Japanese PSP?

On the PSP 1000 you describe, with 3.95 Firmware, you don't actually need to buy a Pandora, and can either flash CFW without it or softmod your own battery into a Pandora for the install.

You simply need to update to 5.03 Official Firmware (NO FURTHER!) and then use Davee's ChickHen v2 to enable a hombrew environment (this is the annoying step!). From there you can either run a Pandora creation tool (such as cory's OSPBT) or flash firmware without one (Hellcat's recovery flasher or XGEN Updater)

You just need to get a couple of firmware eboots and the cfw flashing apps and you'll be away.
