So I see that you can update X and Y through QR code, and was curious about the concept of making a custom patch, then generating a QR code for it and applying it to the game. Could such a thing be possible?

Plus I'm pretty sure it's near impossible to convert a patch into a qr code. A QR code is a visual representation of data that devices convert back into machine language and you can only store so much data in a single image. I mean look how many QR Codes it takes to import a design into animal crossing.
