When my battery is low it will black screen like it's loading then show my battery indicator on the screen and never load the game?

Unless you mean the blue sphere present in original Doom, that just adds 100hp up to maximum of 200.

Oh my how embarrassing. Yep. Yeah, I was getting that mixed up with the other orb that inverts the colours of your screen and makes you invincible. Which is why I thought it wasn't activating. My bad.

FATAL ERROR:
Failed to load OpenGL functions.
How to fix this?
That could possibly happen if you have launched an OpenGL-enabled homebrew prior to this and it didn't deinitialize properly.
Try restarting the Homebrew Menu and running the game again.

This does not work :( I rebooted the console, copied again, tried three versions of the brutal doom . The original doom2 wad crashes after completing the first mission.Sorry for my English

Oh. The error.log file you're getting the message from is probably from an older launch attempt.
The problem here is that GZDoom (especially larger mods like BD) can require more RAM than is available in applet mode, so this should be either run from NSP HBMenu or by overriding an actual title (game) instead of Album if you're using Atmosphere. So you should try that if you're running it from Album.

All the settings present in the GZDoom options menu can be changed just like in PC GZDoom, including Display and Video options. Just don't forget to quit the game using the Quit Game button in the menu instead of HOME to save your settings.
See these posts for some suggestions:
Make sure you're not running in 1080p while in handheld mode. There's probably more settings that you can tweak, but I don't really know which, besides stuff like dynamic lighting.
By the way, all resolution options should work, so you can just use the "Pick resolution preset" menu and select 720p or lower and see if it does anything for performance. Just make sure you press "Apply changes (Fullscreen)" and not "Apply changes (Windowed)" after you pick one. Another thing that I forgot to disable is anisotropic filtering, it's under "Display Options" => "Texture Options" and is set to 8x or 16x by default, I think, so you can try disabling that. While you're there, you can also play around with options like "Sort drawlists by texture".

Thank you, you amazing!

That should be supported by GZDoom. Just rename it to doom2.wad (if it's not called that already) and put it in gzdoom/iwads.

What do you mean by doesn't work? Is there anything in error.log? Is there anything in gzdoom.log if you turn on "write log"?

First, check if there's a file called error.log in the gzdoom folder. Tell me if there's anything in there.
Second, "write log" can be turned on in the launcher on the "misc" tab. You can switch tabs with the L and R keys.

That's an error in the mod you're trying to run. You're running an outdated version of Ketchup that isn't compatible with newer GZDoom versions. This should do the trick.

okay so i just delted what i had and redownloaded now with no minor mods and it works fine couldve been something wrong with ketchup mod

Anyone got any performance tweaks? Mostly for Brutal Doom/Project Brutality. Seems whenever I shoot an enemy or jump into water the game hitches pretty badly, or is that to be expected right now?

Remember that Brutal Doom and by extension Project Brutality have their own settings separately.
