In under 2 years Trump has managed to bankrupt the once profitable Kennedy center. After being installed as chairman, his hand picked board infamously addended his name to the building. A move which was later reversed by the courts.

The center now states it may close within the next few weeks if it is not allowed to add Trump's name back - a move which it says will come with additional funds from the president to stave off bankruptcy. Ticket sale revenue has plummeted this year and many artists have refused to perform and canceled shows.

The center, which was created to be a a living memorial to the assassinated John F Kennedy, has also faced threats of demolition by the new board if they are not allowed to add the name back.

Trump's head of health and human services Robert F Kennedy JR, nephew of the slain president remains a staunch ally and close confidant of the president.

So they indefinitely close it down for "renovations" after Trump's name is removed (which they apparently had money for in the first place), and now they're saying they'll need to close entirely unless Trump's name is put back?

A big chunk of the ceiling collapsed there a few weeks ago. Could've killed people if it happened during an event. Was it never being funded well, even before Trump? Or was the funding the Center was receiving over the last 60 years just lining people's pockets? Cuz it obviously wasn't going to proper maintenance.

There were reports of leaks in the past going back to the late 70's. There was a single incident where some thin plaster fell off around that time as well. Since then, nothing else has happened.

Now, when the Trump regime is fighting to close it down for two years in the courts, a piece of the ceiling falls off and the Trump installed leadership puts out a report that concluded that the building is unsafe for continued occupancy? That's some pretty crazy timing. It's a pretty safe bet that the ceiling wouldn't have ever fallen if Trump's name wasn't removed.

Didn't seem like there was much of a problem until Trump placed his hands on it. That's when people stopped going, so of course they don't have the funds to do any repair work.

Given the administration's seemingly endless record of demonstrably false statements, it's more reasonable to approach everything it does and says with skepticism. Gas prices are coming down? Sure.... Iran is begging to come to the table? Right..... Big firemen carried you out of a collapsing building? Huh?!

When the administration immediately points to an event like this as justification for something it was already pursuing, skepticism is the only reasonable choice.

In the end, this topic doesn't crack the top 30 of the things that matter in the US. It's just funny that Trump cares so much about getting his name on things that he's willing to go to these lengths. I'm morbidly curious to see what lengths he'll go to to get that pointless arch built.
