WIP GZDoom for Switch

    This runs on any current CFW, as do most homebrews that are posted in this section. So yes.

    All of the CFW that can run Homebrew will work, theoretically. I highly recommend Atmosphere as it's open-source, free, and works very well.

    TX OS is free if you just want homebrew. You only need to pay for the license to access pirating switch games.

    does it work only on fat32? cause it just close with a software error for me

    Check for error.log in the gzdoom folder, though it's probably not there.
    Might also be that you somehow installed it incorrectly.

    No IWAD definitions found
    i have all the wads tho ...

    and path in the ini are ok... so idk ..

    Sounds like your gzdoom.pk3 is corrupted or not there at all or something. Try copying everything over again.

    hmmm really weird , now i get an error without a log but everything is there and i dont see why they would be corrupted

    edit: i got doom 2 normal to launch with the gzdoom.nro but the launcher just fail

    Where did you put everything? The layout should look like this
    switch/
    --gzdoom_launcher.nro

    Thanks guys. Yeah I don't have any interest in pirating switch titles. Just like the idea of having access to old games on the go and if I can eliminate my 3ds and phone from that I'd be thrilled.

    Updated from 3.02 to 6.20 and its fixed.

    I don't know why. Maybe there were kernel changes in Horizon that affects how math operations are performed in gzdoom engine? I dunno.

    Hopefully my case was an isolated case. But if anybody else can confirm if my bug exists or not on 3.02 or lower firmware that would be appreciated. Just so fgsfds can add it to his buglist if required.

    Its exactly like that. Wich is why i dont get it xD. I can launch doom2 through gzdoom.nro but not the launcher and cant have a list or choice of wad

    which version of brutal doom are people using because it's not working for me :/

    when using call of doom with brutal doom bundled in that works

    I don't know then. The launcher is a simple SDL2 thing, there's no reason it shouldn't work.

    The latest version of BD from ModDB should work fine.

    I encountered a bug with saving. On E2M2 i tried to save the game, but after typying the name of the savegame, the game softlocked and I couldnt close it through Horizon. I had to reboot the console.
    It can be irritating when someone is playing a long map.
    EDIT: It is also worth noting that I was playing on SmoothDoom spritepack

    That's kinda weird. Are you sure it softlocked and you didn't just forget to press A? What firmware/cfw are you on?

    No, I tried to press every single button on joycons, no response, when I loaded the game again, safe function worked, after putting a name on a savegame, it is highlighted with red color, but when softlock occured, i pressed A, then I had to type the name, and then I couldnt press anything, there was no response.

    Imma open by saying I know very little about doom mods and compatibility, it's not something I've really done before but this is a list of all the stuff I've got working on this version of GZDoom for anyone, like me, who know feck all lol Obviously this is not an exaustive list just stuff that looked interesting to me and worked

    For those who want BD to run a bit better here's my config.. it still hitches now and then especially on a lot of action but is a lot better.

    You should only need to change it to your name and anything elts you want hehe.

    Is there a way to just have the launcher nro? so you don't have to have the standalone nro and the selector nro show up
