Sorry if this is an obvious question, but does this latest custom disc have the guitar tracks? When I play a song (any song) and I miss the note, I still hear the guitar track. There is basically no difference between hitting the notes and missing them.

Also, none of the songs work in practice mode.

This is great guys! There are actual free offers that you can complete to earn stuff. Each point it equal to one dollar so signing up and completing offers is really worthwhile. PM me if you have any other questions!

You can't really seperate the guitar tracks without having the master tracks from the studio or spend tons of time editing the mp3.

Also, no custom GH3 songs have practice mode or "more stats" yet.

I also noticed that the custom GH3 songs don't allow for the use of the whammy bar to add your own little improvisational touches to each song. That's unfortunate because that also takes away from the immersion factor of the game. That doesn't mean that I don't enjoy playing custom songs though.

The sound won't change for the same reason you still hear all the song regardless of hitting the notes right or not. Without the master tracks there's no way to do this unless you want the entire song to cut out.

^thats correct. since we dont use master tracks which are all split by the instrument, we only use our MP3s or OGGs and such... you would only map the song to channel 1 and 2 which are left and right sound. thats why whammy doesnt work and it wont work unless you map a sound to the guitar... which is not worth the time and effort.

::EDIT:: Channel 3 is the guitar map and if you had a sound in there THEN it would screw up when you miss a note and whammy sounds. but if you map the mp3 to that channel as well, the song gets distorted if you whammy and song stops completely when notes missed, which is why I said its not worth it.

Same update as the original NTSC GH3 disk. Probably not an issue for you. Update via the net or a more recent PAL release and you're golden. There's no reason not to be up to date right now (begin IOS37 discussion).

For anyone interested:
There's a new custom version up on BC, it has all the songs from Rock Band plus some of the DLC songs it's pretty much flawless even the guitar player actions are synchronized with the music and there's no way to play co-op mode, but still it's really well made and it's fun to play.

I signed up to BC back when it first came out. At the time, there weren't nearly as much releases as GC. Now, if I had known BC would become so popular, I would have stuck around:(.

If someone could put it up on usenet, would be much appreciated.

Ditto, I re-registered like a week ago, they keep opening their registrations so keep an eye on it.

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
