Gaming Guitar Hero III Customization

Have you had any luck resolving this issue yet? I'm having the exact same problem as you are...

I've got a NTSC/U Wii, 3.1U with a Wiikey 1.9s. I use Verbatim DVD-R DataLifePlus media, I burn with Nero at 4x, and this is the same process that I have used for every other Wii game I have (200+) which I have had no issues with. I didn't even have any trouble playing the DVD9 SSBB, even without the 1.9s firmware.

I downloaded the GH1/80s off Usenet, used Quickpar to repair. I verified the checksum of the iso is indeed correct (6a9e14b074bd36ffcf1538ecd5d52256). I burn with Nero at 4x and my Wii won't read the disc. I tried on DVD+RW and DVD-R (both Verbatim) and both to no avail.

I have two other custom GH discs that I got off a popular "feline" torrent site, and they work just fine. This one particular iso (Guitar.Hero.I.and.80s.beta.Wii) is the only thing I've ever burned that has not worked for me, and I can't see a reason why.

I'm pretty much out of ideas here...can any of you guys offer up a suggestion?

The copy I got off ng was in PAL format. I used regionfrii to change it to NTSC/U and now it works fine. I was told I didn't need to do that, but it didn't work otherwise, so I dunno.

there is now a version of gh3 with gh2 songs on newsgroups excellent work although a couple of songs are mixed up and a few need a bit of tweaking, but still major props to whoever done it

If you couldn't play the original GH3 ntsc-u stereo version of the game you wont be able to play this version either.
The only differense is the custom songs.

Q: Does it work on PAL?
A: It works on my PAL 3.1E, WiiKey 1.9g.

Q:Can I just burn and play?
A:Yes, I have already brickblocked it.

Q:Will this erase my old save?
A: On PAL yes, on NTSC no, I recommend downloading a save file so you can play all of the content, you will need a SD card.

Q:I have PAL and I don't want to erase my save file, can I still play?
A:Yes u can, but just the first stage(and/maybe second stage).

Q:I'm trying to save my savefile to a SD-card but it doesn't work, what am I doing wrong?
A:Nothing is wrong, you just can't and I don't know why, if you find a way please let me know.

Q:Can I play Coop?
A:Yes and no, you can play coop but since I didn't have the rhythm.fsb you wont hear the bass player, I'm sry.

Q:Can I play online?
A:Yes I think so, I don't recommend it tho.

Q:What difficulties are included?
A:All of them, Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert.

Q: Are the songs renamed after the original song names?
A: Yes.

Q:The name of the songs doesn't show up as the original song names from GH2!!!
A:Change your language in the Wii settings to English, this has been reported to work.

Q:I think this sucks, the songs isn't the same über quality as the originals!
A: Just remember that I had to convert every song to 32kHz 4bit so there might be some loss in quality and also.. it's FREE!

The concern is only that I made two discs, GHI and GH80's for said private tracker and asked the community not to share them anywhere else. I know that the person that created the disc with that NFO above also requested that it not be uploaded in other places. That's the only concern, I guess.

EDIT: And thus far, I haven't seen my discs end up on Usenet or public trackers, yet...

You may as well start uploading naked pics of your ex-girlfriend and ask that that it not be uploaded anywhere else. If you don't want it anywhere else don't put it online anywhere.

I agree that if these disks were made for a single persons use then they should not have been uploaded and should have been kept private, but theyre up there now, and we might as well make use of them,this is the shadey warez side of "the scene".

Donations: I'm taking donations so that I can purchase a guitar for my Wii. I'm unable to fully test at the mo because I can't play expert without the guitar

I've put many hours into the development of my customs, so it isn't like i'm just asking for money for doing nothing

And as much as i have no problem giving the guy a few quid/dollars to help him continue his project surely in order to fully understand whats going on the guy must have a wii and gh3 in which case it came with a guitar otherwise he just has a warez scene copy in which case you cant really complain when he gives something back. I dont see moment asking for donations to fund their mario kart release.

I just played a bit of this disc. Its really polished like the GH1/80's release

*Heart shaped box and You really got me is switched around
*Sound is MUCH better!. At least I find
*Most of the songs don't include the date they were released

Other than that, I couldn't find much else. Kudo's to whoever made this.

For those of you that are thinking of installing Mario Kart Wii and afraid that it will render your custom GH DVDs useless, "Fret" no more. I'm NTSC and just used WiiUR (or Brickblock if you wish) and it worked fine for Mario Kart and I played GH2 after that and everything still works. This is with 3.1U firmware and YAOSM 3.0 final.
