The issue is that you have to replace the songs that are already in the game with other songs. You can't add others because the game engine only recognizes so many "slots" for the songs to go. So you have a limited number of total songs you can put on the disk, regardless of file size.

Bah, lagman beat me to it.

Playing a custom GH game will not mess up your saves (sort of). If you want to maintain your career saves/scores, just start a new career with the new GH disc. However, if you want to maintain your Quick Play high scores, you won't want to play a custom disc in Quick Play because it'll overwrite the score in that slot, not matter what version of the song (custom or original) was played.

I can confirm that this is true.... The guy that did this did a great job. I did every song on the first tier on easy and it's as good as the original.

tried making a couple custom songs. Both crashed on the "loading screen" (or hung anyway)

Plus the "preview" sounded a garbled mess?

Unsteadycarrot,

This may sound like a dumb question, so please bear with me. I saw that you can change the video in the game. In the example you gave you changed the intro video. The question is can you change the in game video.

Basically, I am wondering, if I took the time to do it, can I change all the GH3 videos to GH1? So that the music will match up with the guy singing and so on from GH1?

I think it would be cool if there was an exact remake.

Thanks,

New version of Guitar Hero II out and it looks like it was made by the same guy who did the guitar hero I/80's edition

QUOTE said:
Guitar.Hero.II.beta.Wii.iso
This is a modified version of Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii. It includes all tracks from the PS2 Guitar Hero II and 6 bonus tracks, the Indie Label Packs I and II. Disc was tested on NTSC-U Wiis with firmware 3.2U. Chips tested were YAOSM 2.0 and Wiikey 1.9b. This should work on any modded PAL or NTSC-U Wii. Online play is strongly not recommended. Quick Play mode is your safest option. This disc uses the GH3 PAL gamesave slot so NTSC users will not have their high scores changed. If you don't see all the songs in Quick Play, enter the unlock all songs cheat code: (YO) (RB) (RO) (GB) (RY) (YO) (RY) (RB) (GY) (GY) (YB) (YB) (YO) (YO) (YB) (Y) Â (RY) Â (Y) (O). Please to enjoy.

yup this GHII custom disc works 99% perfectly, except 'heart shaped box" and " you really got me" are swapped.

Does it mean I can just edit the songlist to get a perfect GHII custom disc?

Are you saying Guitar Hero.II.beta.Wii has the same swapped songs as the previous release?

Ah, nice. I assume the bass in this version also plays fine(not coop, just that it plays in the background while playing the guitar) so I'll probably grab this release.

Just tried it out and it appears to have correct names on the songs (along with years). Has the PAL savegame too. So I'm thinking this is the mono version too. This appears more polished.

I can also confirm this is the mono version but its polished up nice like the Guitar Hero I(80`s) edition. This is my new keeper. I wish I knew who made these because I would send my GH3 Stereo disc to this guy so he could use it for a stereo version.

i just updated the guide which now includes the latest build of the GUI

does anyone know who did the gh2 version? are the songs distorted or anything, iv noticed that when you add a track with guitar, rhythm AND song then it gets a bit loud and messy.

I know that GH 80's doesn't have a coop mode, but why do none of the customs have coop mode? Is this not possible at the moment?

Because the older games didn't have Co-Op mode. The charts from older games didn't have co-op, and the custom charts were made for the older games that don't have co-op.

Most people who make their own custom discs don't make the charts themselves. They use what has already been made and mix it up to make their own disc.
