Homebrew Guide to setting up Homepass/streetpass relay

What's the status of homepass/streetpass relays? Everything I find is outdated and not very clear. Can any one recommend a current guide on setting up a relay on pc?

the Easiest setup is a SpillPassPi

its pretty much Flash the SD Image connect a Wifi adapter , plug into power * Ethernet and your good to go. and the Pi runs about 35$ (a lil more depending where you are) espically if you have a sufficient USB Power Supply.

That's really the easiest solution?
I've been curious about this too, but I'm not buying a piece of equipment just for this.

I'd prefer to do something on my pc. Any thoughts?
