i re-iterate, i have a MAC and therefore cannot run any .NDS, .DAT, OR PRETTY MUCH ANY OTHER WINDOWS - RUNNING APPLICATIONS... my computer has a problem with the script reading or something, its blahblah to me. point is, i can't run ANY windows affiliated suffixes. not even bat or dldi.

isn't there some vmware program that you can use? i'm pretty sure there is.

also, since when is *.nds a windows extension?

So far i can't open Chrono Trigger and JUS! With English Patch, in Yasu. Anyone else have this problem? Worked fine with Kernel 1.18. But now when i use Yasu they don't work anymore.

Also, i heard there was a new version out of Yasu, but i can't find it on his site.

Hi. New here!

There is one thing I don't get about running the YSmenu on a R4.
So here is a small list of questions for you masters here at gbatemp.net

1. Is changing to YSmenu on a R4 just a cosmetic change? (New GUI?)
2. Or does it give better game compability? Here is were I am confused since you base the YSmenu of a R4 firmware file.
So how can the compability become better ?

It is more than just a new GUI. Compatibility is much better, you no longer need to worry about the Arm 7 patch, cheat lists show up better and aren't cut off, etc. As for why the compatibility is better, it is not using an R4 firmware file like you suggested. It is using the new DSTT firmware, which was last updated January 6, 2009.

AN ABSOLUTE NOOB here. I'm following you guys to get all the files i need and I went to the Yasu site to try to get the updated YSMENU amd it won't let me download it. All it does when u click on the link is refresh the page. Is this doing the same to anyone else? If so, are the any other alternatives for r4ds? Thanks.

DSTT/DSTTi Menu v1.17
DSTT Kernel v1.17
DSTT kernel v1.17 - fake killer disabled

that is the site, and it sill downloads just fine for me. you are clicking on the most recent date under the DS(T_T) area, right?

why did yasu stick a dma option in? when i tried loading with dma turned off, the game would not load all the way

(don't say i did something wrong because i used r4ysauto)

would YSMenu work on my R4 clone? its the R4 III version with firmware 3.03 from http://www.r4dsl.net.

I would imagine that it would work, you just don't encrypt the _DS_MENU.DAT.

Also just wanted to tell Spec2K that I followed your guide and successfully created the YSmenu firmware. I didn't really do it for me, my friend's kids both have R4's who I hook up with games every once in a while and I KNOW they're gonna want that Kirby game and probably the Sonic Chronicles. So it's a good deal.

You know, it would really be nice if Yasu would just let people create the firmware and make it available for download to everyone instead of making each individual person go through all that hassle to create it for themselves. What a pain in the ass.

His personal files....yeah, OK, but the finished firmware should be allowed.

What do I do NOT too encrypt the firmware if I use YSauto?

There is a new version of ysmenu 7 Feb and new DSTT firmware 6 Feb, followed guide but don't get r4patch file. Am I using wrong version or doesn't the guide work for the new versions?

I thought, the latest version of the DSTT firmware is 1.17 from december or january?

Ok I got it working but is there a way to get back to the main option screen(where u choose what game u want to play) from inside an already loaded game?
