Yes you need an external hdd to have this option. You need to have your thumb drive or HDD for installing PKGs formatted to exFat, but the external HDD for PS4 must be formatted as extended storage on the PS4.

I believe the filesystems are different, and arent interchangable.
ok thanks! but even if i don't you any external hd to play games ofr ps4 storage is normal to have that error code? even if i don't connect nothing at the console, but pkg install fine even with that error

From what we know so far games have to be installed and played from internal hdd otherwise you get error.

Fake signed Games cannot be played from an external formatted as extended storage yet.

You must have HEN running to be able to start installed games, else you get an error again.

You could install to internal, move to exfat hdd (not formatted by ps4) and mod your db to run from external, if youre confident FTP'ing and messing with database files.

ok, i want just to remove that annoying error when i enter debug game

You should not get an error.

Is the pkg you installed fake signed?

Did it instal to internal hdd?

Do you have HEN running when you try play it?

Are there padlock icon on the game image in the XMB?

that error come up even when i have the ps4 EMPTY and like new with nothing installed on it. is a pro 4.55. so i don't know why i have that error. i have installed one game and it plays fine, its not a pkg related problem

What is the error/error code: CE-30129-5?

I will look it up....

Are you using latest version of these HEN/WEBKIT exploits? Seems like CE-30129-5 is a debug error from the browser exploit.

Last edited by KiiWii,
When I try to update via USB from 4.05 it detects the 4.55 firmware but then says 'CE-30778-5 cannot access system storage'
I have tried 2 different USB drives both FAT32 also tried EXFAT and they have PS4 and UPDATE folder with firmware inside.
Also deleted PS4UPDATE.PUP.net.temp still not working, anyone have a solution?
The console works fine it's just the update that's not working.

I found a solution here .
"When the update failed due to lack of space remaining (sony whatup with a disc check homey?) then an empty folder is created. This folder MUST be deleted via FTP before another attempt or EVERY future attempt will error out."
You need to run ftp and delete PS4UPDATE.PUP and PS4UPDATE*** folder from /update folder and install firmware again from usb stick.

Thanks panica123 that fixed it!

xVortex dropped a payload for 4.55 over at hax and stooged used it in his Ps4serve2 1.2 apk. Not sure the source for those payloads yet as xvortex github doesnt show any updates yet....
Thanks I'll have to check it out ;) but if anyone here actually tries to send a FTP Payload and it works.. Tell me how you did it :P
Its worrying having an update downloaded waiting :P one false press and I'm on 5.05..

With xvortex 4.05 version, you send ftp payload, it pops up notification "listening on x.x.x.x:1337" put that into filezilla and bingo. Super easy mate.

Did you use v1 or the updated v2?

Looks like an error from old webkit.

That would be great! :P I spent the best part of 2 hours trying to get the FTP Payload to send but it kept erroring out? I'll try with that android app and see if it helps :)

Depends what youre happier with, android host is awesome, but I have iphone, and my laptop is always on so I prefer Al-Azifs solution and I modify the html to suit me :)

It is still unstable but keep trying. I will back off and wait until it is more stable version.

@OperationNT it just causes a system freeze while trying to enter rest mode. Perhaps future versions will iron out this bug, perhaps not.

From experience I recommend not to use rest mode.

Ok, thank you for this clarification!
For the moment, I didn't meet any freeze with rest mode (but I only did it a few time).
