GPD XD - Physical button issue in Wagic

Hey just a quick question: My GPD XD has been amazing but certain games don't always recognize the hardware buttons. I wanted to remap the controls in game via Wagic, with the built in button remapper. It didn't recognize my presses. Isn't there an app that can force apps to listen for new, unrecognized physical buttons so they can play the games how they're really meant to be played?

Any info is appreciated :)
