After booting in to SX OS Custom firmware for the first time my switch screen went black and will not boot up since then, either into ofw or cfw, with dongle or without. Nothing.

I got SX OS yesterday, here's what happened:

  1. I backed up nand

  2. Enabled Auto RCM

  3. Created Emunand (hidden partition)

  4. Uploaded license file to get SX OS License, then enabled emunand.

  5. Attempted to go to CFW - screen went black.

  6. Attempted turning on the switch by placing jig back in. Black. Without jig and without sx pro. Still black. No matter what everything is black now.
I did not update firmware or anything besides the above. I did the above in the order listed. So what the heck happened?

From what I read perhaps Boot0 got corrupted. People mentioned restoring cus data but not possible if I cant even boot up my switch.

OK I managed to get screen on. Held power for 20 seconds and got sx os on.

Uninstalled Auto RCM. Tried loading CFW again, but shows Nintendo logo then black screen. So what do I do now?

Have you held down the power button for 15 seconds ensuring a force power off?

Sounds like your console is stuck in RCM.

Sounds like autoRCM doing its job. My guess is when you powered down your switch it got turned back on somehow, leaving it completely dead.

Make sure your emunand is an exfat one.

It is. But when I load in to CFW it says I need a system update to use a microsdxc card. So I'm wondering if CFW isnt botting because im on exfat and dont have the system update for it

Man I would have gotten myself a little familiar with sxos before messing with any of that emunand stuff but that's just me.

Try this:

1. Format your MMC to exFat via PC.
2. Put MMC in your Switch.
3. Boot SX OS.
4. Create Emunand. (I recommend via hidden partition if you wanted to go online on OFW)
5. After you create Emunand, boot CFW.
6. Profit.

Why do people blindly do things instead of reading instructions? It's really not that hard.

Fixed it. Had to format back to FAT32, update the CFW to 6 then reformat to Exfat and it worked.
Your nand backup is no good now if you updated normally. Autorcm is turned on for a reason. To prevent you from doing what you just did.

Downgrade is out of the question for you now on OFW
