Got Switch Online?

download.jpeg

Nintendo's Online service launched last week for Switch, and we would like to know how many of you have signed up!

Please answer the poll and comment on what you think of Nintendo's new paid Switch Online service.

I succumbed

I made my friend pay for a family plan tho so if you need a subscription, we can spare 1 slot. Shoot me a message if interested.

It holds up to 8 people.

edit: wrong number again, and the slot has been taken! Sorry if you wanted to jump on the online boat

Definitely no. There is no value in this. The infrastructure is still the same and there is no anti-cheat system (people can report cheaters but that's about it). No interest in limited choice, paid, stone age NES games either.

The customer has the power to decide with his pocket and this is the chance to show them.

you should realize that this minimum entrance barrier ought to keep out at least the players too poor to afford stable internet or a good wifi router.
so they are working on the online experience.
I cant tell wheter you are joking or just plain retarded

Seven of my friends and I got the "family-pack" thing for 35€/year, so, I basically pay 0.36€ per month, which is pretty ok for getting some weird NES games I never played (and probably never will, lol). I hope, that some day, the NES library includes games I actually want to play or we get a similar thing for other older Nintendo consoles. F-Zero Climax Online, for example, would be pretty nice.

I haven't, but only because I have nothing to play online. Once Smash Bros comes out I definitely will. It's not very expensive. Like $25 for a year? lol.

Would be nice if they actually improved their servers with this new source of revenue.

Don't have it yet. If it were anything above $20 there would be no way in hell I'd pay for it. Hoping the service will be better by the time I do get it. I think once they add SNES games to it It'll start being worth it, NES games just don't do anything for me. Special offers are wack as fuck though, anything that you need to buy X for to even have a chance to buy Y is stupid

When you have a baby, shitty exploiting job and rent to pay, even 25$ sometimes means a big difference you know.

I did not. I'm hoping the library of emulated games grows a bit in order to accomodate my preferences.
But I'd like to know how people play NES games with that joycon stick!

Also, I'm not an online gambler, so not really too much to invest on yet.

Then gaming is a terrible hobby to have, because it's not cheap. 1/3 of a new game's cost per YEAR should not be difficult for anyone. Even as a 11 year old kid I was making enough with my paper route per month to pay for a year of sub.

So your solution is to stop doing what I love because I find it hard to afford paying for an online service that brings nothing to the table apart from 30 years old games?
No 1/3 of an AAA game is not ''a lot'' of money if they can justify it, but it is a lot of money for being able to connect to the servers.
If you are wealthy enough to afford paying, then awesome for you dude. Feed them with your wallet so that they never improve.
I on the other side can't and thats ok.

Oh, when I was in my early-mid teens, most of my money went towards my parents to help them out of debt so theres that. I have no savings from back then but I have good memories:)

Not all countries have the same minimum wage, you know?
Living in North America sure has that benefit over it, but Latin America has it rough for such costs, given how absurd the minimum wage is, and add to it the fact that the price of msot LA countries' money against the dollar is at its lowest it has been in decades.
Even if the price seems cheap for people in NA/EU, other countries do struggle to even pay for one $20 bucks game, much less a full $60 dlls game, which in some countries that translates to a week-and-a-half to 2 weeks of minimum wage paid work.

I'm just waiting for smash before I purchase it.
I'm hoping (Rather desperately) they learned from Sm4sh... A decent connection goes miles in these games.

Not until they replace the p2p crap. NES games and cloud saves aren't worth anything to me.
The NES games have too many issues online. Between disconnects and long pauses. The Switch just has a terrible connection all around it would seem.

while true, if you have that, you don't have time for online play in the first place.
and you'd probably be better off with 4$ for a month in case you ever have a week or two of free time
