HI

I bought my first Wii and its second hand. The serial start with LAH128xxxxx. Im from Australia, so the Wii is PAL.

1. How can I check if my Wii had been softmod? because i plan to softmod it.
2. With that serial, is it high risk to softmod compare to other Wii? because I cant seem to identify my model using various Wii serial checker.

I bought it in second hand shop with 3 month warranty.
I want to softmod it and play game on HDD, any recommendation?

thank you.

just softmod it. If it's been softmodded there still happen nothing

On wich firmware is the wii? And wich region? (if its a korean wii, look out for sys menu update when you region change it)

Its a second run unit in oz i think Bootmii boot2 can be installed run your HackMii Installer v0.6
with bannerbomb install HBC and bootmii and make a nand backup as soon as you have installed them that way if you do make a mistake you have a safety net

most likely is gen2.
run the hackmii installer and see if bootmii will install as boot2.
running trucha bug restorer also has a boot2 check.

easiest way is to run HackMii installer (BEFORE doing anything else obviously) and check the log created on your SDCARD. If some IOS have the * mark, it means those are patched IOS and your Wii has been softmodded.

Thanks all.

I heard update to firmware 4.2 might brick my wii, should i update to 4.1? and how?
Or should I softmodded first then update?
