I've run into this and he's been given the proper answers (and I don't just mean by me), but it's the stuff he's not doing and the info he's not giving that's stopping the removal from working.

I tend to believe the same thing.

it does it in ALL browsers.

Open your hosts file (C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) in notepad. You may have to enable hidden files and folders and unchecked hide protected system files.

What does it say?
there is no hosts file

Don't waste your time with complicated operations, just reformat your HDD and be done with it.

The hosts file is easy. You probably don't see it because you need to uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" in your folder options.

The host file should look like:

127.0.0.1 localhost

There shouldn't be anything else in there unless an app wrote to it.

The hosts file is a lot of times why people are redirected.
i have show hidden files checked it's still not in there

Whatever.

  • What version of Firefox is currently installed?
  • You didn't take a screenshot of the router settings I told you to.
  • You didn't take a screenshot of your IPv4 connection settings like I told you to.
  • You never showed your IE addons like I told you to.
  • You never posted your hijackthis log like the xmrnogatcox told you to.

Dude really? I hope your routers been hi-jacked because reformatting your computer is going to do shit in that case.

I hope it also is attached to your MBR or boot sectors, unless you know how to do a clean format it may still be there.

I was interested in your problem but you have literally been given a lot of things to diagnose what the problem is and you aren't taking the time to level with us so we can help you understand to help us understand what is going on.

---

The reason why I may sound pissed is because I am legitimately wanting to know what is causing this. I don't mean to be rude, but it's as if you designed 30 robots and one of them is having a problem. Instead of figuring out how to diagnose the problem and fixing it, you just destroy and build a new one. Obviously, it's not a 100% chance of occurring, but the cause of the issue is still out there and the 30 other robots may still be vulnerable to the problem

dude i know how to fucking clean format been using computer b4 you were even born! and it's not in my router so you can hope all you want asshole!

You jelly?

I was just curious what was causing this and now I may not get that chance. In my department, there is approximately 150 desktops and 50 thin clients and some of them had similar issues but not exactly what you are experiencing. I have figured out what those were but this is a bit different in a few ways. I would appreciate if you would have just co-operated.

Edit: No reason to put how much I make.

The initial poster didn't deserve your help, he's not very smart, ungrateful and aggresive as you can see. But, that's funny to see someone claiming he knows everything about computer and asking help for a "google virus".

OP is impatient and doesn't do everything in his/her power to fix the problem. As Rydian pointed out, OP failed to give us enough information on the problem so we couldn't help him anyway.

OP also performed an unnecessary reformat. It was probably hiding in the HOSTS file and the OP couldn't find it. It is there, the system cannot function without one so even if it was non-existant, the system will create a new one. However, a certain registry value can tell you where the HOSTS file is located, so it is possible the virus changed the location which is why OP couldn't find it.

Registry value:
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\DataBasePath

problem HAS BEEN LOCATED: between the keyboard and the chair.
formatting has been initiated.
