It's the first version.. some plug-ins won't be available yet.. in fact, I'm surprised to see that it supports PDF files

In some time it will get a lot better than Firefox IMO.. of course, Firefox 4 will probably get a lot of stuff from Chrome.. everybody wins!

Google promised less RAM usage, which I certainly did not notice at all, besides the fact that Chrome takes up 1 slot on Task Manager for each tab you have open (but the memory usage is still pretty much the same as Firefox).

They didn't promise less RAM usage. They said that the RAM can be reallocated by the OS when a tab will be closed which is not possible on any other browser by now. Just read the comic to understand the revolutionary new features in Chrome.

At first, it uses the same amount of RAM as Firefox.. but it manages the memory better. So, after opening and closing some tabs the memory usage won't be as big as Firefox

Made a test regarding memory with it and Firefox 3..

Opened 10 tabs in each, with the same pages..

Chrome was using 199MB of memory and Firefox only 98..

then I closed 9 tabs in each

Chrome was using 73 and Firefox 75

So, yes, Chrome uses more memory, but at the same time has a much better memory management..

Sorry I didn't read through the thread, but I think that the incognito tab is a little akward. Especially on the start page for it they say "Incognito mode will not protect you from.....*lists alot of stuff* and People behind you"
Were you expecting it to prevent people standing behind you from watching you

dammit this topic beat me...
...

Ah Well...

I liked it, then I remembered why I made an annonymous search thingy on my site...

Oh God, Now they can track me...
I layed low for a half year... for nothing....

I think that that Metroid Fusion Roms google search is gonna take me down...
And I searched over two years ago...

been using a vanilla firefox 3 install on xp for awhile now, so the somewhat featureless beta didn't seem too bad. it definitely beats firefox 3 when it comes to browsing digg, with 30 extensions installed or none at all.

It seems to be a lot faster, every site loads within 2 seconds and I'm on a real crappy laptop right now. Dunno what it would be like when its on my regular PC.

Needs to have the amount of add ons that Firefox offers, I'd die if I don't have my "STOP...HAMMERTIME" add on.
Just kidding.

LOL, nice I have a "STOP GETTING RICK ROLLED" add on.

The Chrome browser is decent but has alot of issues with flash, forum buttons, and occasional text display.

It's really fast, but that user agreement thing bothers me little.
Basically if you upload something with chrome, google gets rights on it. Or something like that.

Well it is only BETA right now.

I'll still be using Firefox for now but will keep a beedy eye on this.

Google's user agreements contain all kinds of scary stuff. That's just the way google operates (They've got to get the billions from somewhere)
