I have this thing here for my PS3 controller because Mini USB was so difficult to find with the advent of USB C. I'm now facing a problem with my current 3DS charger and want to future-proof my charging without hardmodding. Is there a similar device anyone can recommend for connecting C to my 3DS? I'm avoiding ones that are just little cords because it just prolongs the same issue where the cable fails as it gets moved around.

The short cable ones don't have resistors hooked up to the CC pin, so they need a usb-a to usb-c cable to charge. A small dongle like this would be awesome, but nobody seems to be making them, and I don't think it would be easy to create a design you can just order to be made.

Mod a dock instead, that way the cable remains stationary most of the time and stress on the console's connector is also nearly eliminated by not using the actual socket :)

I have no hardmod skills.
Modding a dock would, at worst, be a case of cutting off the end of one cable and soldering on a new one. Barely any skill required. Any semi-competent repairman would probably be willing to do it for a couple of bucks.

This is the best, tested and cheap USB C to 3ds adapter you can get to avoid hardmodding.

Might as well get a pouch and one of those All-N-in-one to USB A male bundle cables and keep both together at all times. I have one of those, and bought separate GBMicro>A cables and keep one in the pouch. USB A-in't going anywhere aaaaanytime soon.
