I've beaten most of my DS games, and Phoenix Wright 3 isn't out in Japan for another couple weeks, so what good stuff is there in the wide world of home development?

Games, a few of the older FPS titles (doom, quake, wolf3d, hexen, heretic..) got ports to the DS. Most of those are good for a playthrough.

+1 to lemmings http://www.mrdictionary.net/lemmings/

Meteora as well:

the NES is emulated fairly well of late: http://www.cs.utah.edu/~tew/nesDS/ and there have been a few translations:

If you like sudoku and pong then there have been a few of those as well.

Cube-x is pretty good: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=56129

I quite enjoyed the fallout type game: http://playeradvance.org/forum/showthread.php?t=9738

I will leave it to others to suggest more.

My favorite homebrew is Warcraft Tower Defence.
