After owning an r4 for a couple of years, I just today finally figured out how to activate cheats using the user.dat.

Are there any games you can think of that are fun to play with cheats? Something that maybe you wouldn't bother with if you couldn't use cheats?

Probably one of the games that require a cheat to bypass a piracy check.

But I never need cheats for games. ...

Okay, okay, so I cheated to beat the crab boss in Castlevania. Sue me.

Try Tony Hawk: American Sk8land...

There is a cheat that allows your skateboard to be a hover craft...
Another cheat for a super jump, etc.

I haven't got the cheat working yet... when I tried it, nothing happened

You can still play it even without cheats though

Only cheats I ever used were for Jump Ultimate, Bleach, and Custom Robo Arena. I would rather have all characters/parts unlocked for going online.
In general I don't like using cheats, because when I beat something using cheats, it kinda loses any satisfaction.

Perhaps you'd enjoy Disgaea with cheat codes, after you beat the main storyline because then you won't have to spend yyyy hours grinding so you can beat a new map that'll allow to grind to level xxxx so you can beat the next map. (Postgame of course, using cheats before you beat the last boss will make the game a huge bore)

Every game is good once you cheat... xP Good ones are; Animal Crossing, Custom Robo Arena, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, New Super Mario Bros., Basically every top game are worth cheating at :/

But of course you gotta try the game first, before you spoil it with cheats

The only games that should ever be cheated on are extremely time consuming ones. Even if they are time consuming you shouldn't cheat. But if you don't feel like spending tons and tons of hours on disgaea, then it's acceptable.

I'm not talking about cheating to beat a game. Games that have fun/unique cheats like the Tony Hawk example menioned above. And I have to say the Tony Hawk Sk8land cheats are a blast. I like the hooverboard but the matrix cheat is my fav so far. I like to see the footwork used while performing tricks.

Now I have to admit that I stuck animal crossing back on the cart after 8months off and I'm considering using the weeds to bells cheat just to have more motivation in cleaning my town up.

Other cool cheats out there?

nobody seems to mention any "just for fun" cheats.
some include:
super mario 64 "paper mario mode" (makes mario flat)
pokemon D/P "camera hack" (gives different viewing angles and zoom)
zelda PH "camera hack" (gives "real" 3rd person view)
