Hacking Homebrew Gonna Buy PSP Slim

Hey guys.
I bought a JPN PSP at launch and then sold it not long after MGS: PO was released. I have the cash now to either get a Wii or a PSP Slim and as my fiancee said she will get me a Wii for my b'day next month, I thought I'd go with the PSP Slim as I want the FF Tactics port/remake, and God of War/FF7 CC next year.
My questions are:
Is there a Slim bundle in UK that comes with a 2G Pro Duo? (1G no good for full game rips), if not, wheres the best/cheapest place to buy a 2G card? Preferably in a store.. so I can get it right away with the Slim.
Can all Slims be flashed with custom fw?
Are there any good limited edition bundles in UK right now?
What games should I pick up with it? (100% buying FF Tactics, I like SRPG and RPG mainly, but will try anything decent, was thinking of that Jean D'ARC and maybe Dunegons & Dragons Tactics). Basically what games are worth playing since MGS: PO came out? I will most likely only buy one other game with FFT, and download the rest *shame*, so looking for something really great, AAA. Was thinking about the Castlevania remake as I have all of the series original retail, only game collection I still have and maintain..
Any other help/advice will be greatly appreciated, been out of the PSP loop for quite a while now, should've stayed in it but it's hard to keep up to date with all the firmwares when I have no net at home!

ebay memory sticks are virtually all fake and too slow for playing iso's from

http://www.play.com/ have 2gig sandisk memory sticks for £15 delivered, or 4gig for £31 delivered (£2 cheaper for the non-gaming 4gb).

hi-street stores are going to be £25-£60 for a 2gig mem stick.

All slims can be flashed to custom firmware - you need a pandora battery/mem stick combo to flash it to m33.

Most UK places are doing slim and game for £130 (HMV, gamestation etc - different choice of games depending on the store).

Wowa I didn't realise the 2G/4G cards had dropped so much in price, I paid nearly £100 for a Sony 2G with my first PSP. Think ima order the 4G one from PLAY and go for a bundle from GAME or HMV. That way I can get it after work today and sell the 1G card to pay for the 4G one.
As for getting it flashed, maybe someone here on temp.net can do it for me...?

send your memory stick and a fat NOT SLIM! battery to someone and they'll convert it for you

alternatively buy a datel tool battery, and use one of the easy installer GUI's to make a magic memory stick.

Then just put the mem card in, put the tool/pandora battery in and follow the onscreen prompts.



EDIT: Slim & Lites don't come with ANY memory card. They also don't come with a USB cable, so you'll need to get one if you don't already have one.

Do they not have the bundles in Europe?
Mine came with a 1GB, which I'm leaving as a Pandora stick, while I use a 4GB for the usual stuff.

Although it's true that it doesn't come with a USB cable, but it uses a standard mini USB cable.

I'm pretty sure you can get bundles here with 1G, headphones and usb etc. Same as the phat bundles...

nop, no bundles in the UK on the slim.

There is just the base pack, plus some shops offer a "free" games.

Australia is usually clumped together with Europe and we have a deal where you get a 1GB Memory stick and a copy of Ratchet and Clank. It's at EB IIRC

It has alot more rpgs that are actually good, You can emulate alot of consoles flawlessly even playstation 1(playing FFVII on a psp is awesome) and you can watch anime on it and even connect it to your television

The PSP Slim & Lite was released in Hong Kong on August 30, 2007. In New Zealand the PSP Slim was released on September 14. In North America the Ice Silver Daxter Pack was released on September 5th. The Piano Black Core Pack was released on October 5 and the Star Wars Ceramic White on October 4, 2007. For the Japanese market, a special "FINAL FANTASY VII 10th Anniversary" edition was released on September 13 bundled with the release of the game Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, limited in quantities to 77,777 units. The normal edition will be released on September 20 in Japan. At September 2007, SCEE announced 2 more colors for the Slim PSP, a Simpsons PSP, and a Spider-Man PSP. Both will come with their movie games, and the Spider-Man pack will come with Spider-Man 3 movie UMD. The PSP Slim & Lite was also released in Singapore on 10th October.

Crush is a great game, as is Ys, Loco Roco, Final Fantasy 20th Anniversery, Megaman Powered Up, Exit, and others. Check the PSP Essentials list.

Loco Roco is fantastic, as is Me & My Katamari.

Can't wait for the white slim to be released here, the black gets too greasy/coated in fingerprints..
