Ok. So changing the header edits the title screen, garbles text and shit.

Renaming EN files to the normal, no go.
Deleting all other files but EN, no go.
Changing header and renaming files is a no go.

Bah... Don't know what else to try. I'll look through the other directories...

also,

fuck it. I can't get the spoiler working now. =(

Yeah, I know. it WAS at the end but it wouldn't work. still. Lemme try again another time --

testing. Isaac's beard is epic. end testing.

NOW it works. =P Thanks for the heads up anyways.

hmm probably if you replace the files when game is booting the difference between filesize becomes an issue.
which means that by adding 0s you could get the same size and the game would believe it loads the same file.

which is btw totally a possible idea since the japanese files are always a tack bigger than the english ones so you could add zeros to match the size and try again. I wonder what that would do.

I'm sleepy so can't do that today but I think that would be worth a try.

What if they were doing hash checks instead of size checks? That would make it a lot more annoying.

True and would make it a lot harder but for now all we know, still worth to try and to worry then if the second is the case:D

I don't know that files... are english or japanese xD

Well, I confirmed this working on AKAIO 1.8.1 w/ the AP enabled (didn't try it without AP). Anyway, I played for about 90+ minutes no crashes, just a gigantic puzzle that is Golden Sun: Dark Dawn in Japanese XD

good news

It comes with secret languages (multi-8)

bt_cv_0_a - > Japanese
bt_cv_0_a_1EN - > USA English
bt_cv_0_a_2GE - > German
bt_cv_0_a_3FR - > French
bt_cv_0_a_4IT - > Italian
bt_cv_0_a_5SP - > American Spanish
bt_cv_0_a_6UK - > United Kingdom English
bt_cv_0_a_7EUSP - > Spain Spanish

Trying to change the language manually

When repacked you get black screen
anyone can make a solution?

I tried to change the files completely and black screen after that... but there are few files that are _EN like "abc_EN.bin" "def_EN.bin". So I guess that you have to change it to "abc.bin" so it can run english font or w/e and that will solve the black screen? Anyone tried? I'm too lazy to redo it... just figured out when I looked back in my changed log... lol...

blah the files we are talking about are for the dictionary of the game and have no relation to the font whatsoever.

changed some of the config and dic files... In the options, I got the Message Speed [SLOW] [NORMAL] [FAST] in English.. Using "Clean Mode" on my DSTwo card

What program were you using? and what files did you change?

From going through the rom it looks like the English data is just E3 stuff, some files have EN and other languages but a lot don't, So I think it's just remnants of E3 and other events. Although I want someone to prove me wrong and have the entire English files in there.
