Ok, I got a question. I was told to go to this guide to make my Wii hacked --> http://gbatemp.net/t171901-modify-any-wii-4-3-below

I currently got a Wii with version 3.4U firmware installed. I have a couple questions

1) Do I HAVE to "Update to 4.2" first? Then start the hacking procddure?

2) Do I have to have at least 1 of the following games?
- Super Smash Brothers Brawl, US/Japanese Wii's ONLY.
- Lego Indiana Jones, US/Europe Wii's ONLY.
- Yu-Gi-OH 5D's Wheelie Breakers, All Wii's.

you should be posting this question in that thread.....

1.) Yes. use the update pack, then the mod pack
2.) No...those are only for 4.3

my opinion, use the ModMii guide instead....

See XFlak post about it, but basically it a program that when run will ask you a few simple questions.

Once done it will download ALL the required files needed & create a simple step-by-step guide as well.
- You then copy over the files onto a standard SD card
- Insert it into the Wii
- Switch on & then follow the guide that modMii created

At the end you'll have a softmodded Wii that's as up-to-date as it can be (depending on what you answered in the questions)

Note that IF you want USB HDD support to play backups - you will need to run the program a second time IIRC

run ModMii, start the ModMii Wizard, hack your Wii

then run ModMii again, start the USB-Loader Setup feature, set up your external hard drive

So do I have to have a formatted and empty hard drive connected to my wii while I load up the USB-Loader setup feature? and then I follow steps and I am done?

the usb-loader set up guide does not require a Wii (obviously when you're done, in order to use the usb-loader you need to plug it into the Wii)

u don't need to partition the hard drive anymore, FAT32 is supported, so I recommend 1 massive fat32 partition

Ohhh, I run ModMii on my computer and follow the steps, then after that I drag in my iso' and start playing???? What do I load up on my Wiii to load up my ISO games?

Sorry, you are correct, no absolute need to partition the hard drive, I only suggested that as I intend to use mine as a backup for my PC.

K I am in the middle of the program, and it says that 4.1 is recommended, should I do the 4.1? Or still choose 4.2?

Update it to 4.2U, then do EXACTLY what the guide tells you to do.

I did that like a week ago with a brand new Wii out of the box and it took less than an hour.

It's really easy...

Edit:

Yes, you need to keep the SD card in whenever you start up the HBC.
