I live in the U.S. I mostly see 3000's in my gamestops. I rarly see any used 1000 too. Maybe it's where I live. I'm going to toy R us tomorrow and see if they have a really old psp

was just a suggestion to be on the safe side for CFW compatibility. but most 2000s are fine too, just one or two mainboards which dont work. you can always take it back for refund after checking if youve got the right revision.

I had the same issue. Dad lives in Singapore and apparently they sell pre-CFW'd PSPs there, so I got him to buy one from there.

It's TA-088v2 (The last hackable mobo as of now until they manage to hack the v3)
The unhackable one is the TA-088v3.

Someone I know got a new PSP not pre-CFW'd and it was TA-088v1 - so you still have a chance.
It was used from GameStop.

Madden 09 PSPs were already confirmed unhackable. Japanese metallic blues (not madden 09) are apparently all hackable though.

may or may not help you buy the right psp without even opening the box

another tip is the MODEL information on the actual PSP is under the battery in the battery compartment!

as with most electrical goods you get around 14 days or so to return them!
