Sony Santa Monica has locked in the launch of one of the PlayStation 5's most anticipated games of the year. God of War Ragnarok has just gone gold, meaning development on the game is complete, and the final version of the game is ready to be put on disc. The game will be launching on November 9th, for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Kratos and Atreus embark on a mythic journey for answers and allies before Ragnarok arrives.

From Santa Monica Studio comes the sequel to the critically acclaimed God of War (2018). Kratos and Atreus must journey to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers as they prepare for the prophesied battle that will end the world.

Together, Kratos and Atreus venture deep into the Nine Realms in search of answers as Asgardian forces prepare for war. Along the way they will explore stunning, mythical landscapes, gather allies from across the realms and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters.

As the threat of Ragnarök grows ever closer, Kratos and Atreus find themselves choosing between the safety of their family and the safety of the realms…

Key Features

Those Who Break Fate – Atreus seeks knowledge to help him understand the prophecy of “Loki” and what role he is to play in Ragnarök. Kratos must decide whether he will be chained by the fear of repeating his mistakes or break free of his past to be the father Atreus needs.
Weapons of War – The Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chaos and Guardian Shield return alongside a host of new abilities for both Kratos and Atreus. As they take on gods and monsters from across the Nine Realms, Kratos’ deadly Spartan skills will be tested like never before as he fights to protect his family.
Explore the Realms – Journey to dangerous and stunning landscapes while facing a wide variety of enemy creatures, monsters and Norse gods as Kratos and Atreus search for answers and allies.

Cool, another uninspired crapsouls clone. It was at least somewhat original before.
What the fuck are you talking about? Do you seriously think dark souls invented third person combat? Neither ragnarok nor the last game are even vaguely similar to souls games. Do you really think having a tiny bit of difficulty, being third person, and having a dodge are what dark souls games are?

Got the jotnar edition preordered from Playstation.com, and I have the pokemon, oled switch preordered from Walmart on top of the dual pack of pokemon later in the month.
Same with all you said, except the Pokemon OLED.
Can't find it anywhere in my area. Same goes for the Ragnarök Dual Sense. :(

Awesome stuff! :D
Well, it may be still available on Playstations's site, but I'm not from the US and Playstation doesn't even ship to where I live, sadly.

Damn, that sucks. I don't seem to have the camouflage version preordered, but I'm tapped out on money as you can see. It's going to cost me over $700 for all that stuff in November.

But look at the bright side. You're gonna have an awesome holiday season for sure. :D
Let's hope that by then, at least one of my local gaming stores will get one of these. :P

I have a secret weapon getting these things preordered though. He's a friend on here, and he always knows when something goes up.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
