Hacking Getting my Gamecube controllers to work with Nintendont?

I'm not the most tech savy person so I apologise if this is a really basic question.

I've used TeconMoon's injector to put a few Gamecube games on to my Wii U, I had to do it this way as I don't have a Wii Remote so needed to bypass going to the Wii menu. The games load and work find but I cannot workout how to get it to pick up my GC controllers?

Im using 2 offical controllers plugged into a 4 slot Mayflash adaptor, when I start a GC game an option comes asking if I want to use the Gamepad I press Yes the game works fine, if I press No it tells me I need pair a Wii remote which as I said above I don't have

Other issue I have is, if I start a GC game with the adaptor already plugged into the USB the Wii U freezes on a black screen, I'm but doesn't after i've switched the game on, not sure if thats the issue?
