How would one figure out which version of BOOT1 is installed with software?
SysCheck will tell you which one is installed, and HackMii Installer will tell you if BootMii can be installed as BOOT1.
None of the NUS updates install the vulnerable one. They only replace it with the fixed one and once that's been done there is no way to undo it.
Iirc, boot1 can't be updated, hence BootMii can be installed on every Wii prior to 2009.
If it has boot1 v2 installed (newer Wii's from 2009 onwards) then BootMii can only be installed as in IOS.
Even if boot2 is v4, the bugged boot1 v1 allows BootMii to be installed on boot2 v4.
My bad... I got 'em mixed up. I think Boot1 is part of the Starlet.
I've got limited knowledge of the Wii but I know the basics ;p
Got a boot1 v1 Wii and a boot1 v2 Wii so I'm definitely sure about it.
The HackMii installer should tell you.
