I am likely to buy a wii-u and after having looked at the hacking scene i see that there has been a lot of releases and daily fixes getting introduced.
What do you guys recommend for me? wait for a month or so to get this hack stable ?

Everything is stable now. Go ahead and buy your wiiu.

Nintendo hasn't updated the wiiu in months, but who knows if they might throw one last update before the console's death. Best to buy it when you know it will be on compatible FW.

Thanks, but how about reported bricks issues and warnings?
I see a lot of precautions and warnings in every thread which is making me feel that i must wait for few weeks.

It's really easy to do everything correctly. People who have bricked have purposely disregarded warnings and done unsafe things.

If you follow guides you will be 100% fine. All the warnings are meant to scare inexperienced people honestly.

If you just want to install game backups to usb - you won't brick (you really have to try to brick).

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Free release can have loopholes where they still make money through ads
