Back in 2002, when the GBA was in its prime (and just before GBAtemp.net opened!), there was a pretty cool side-scrolling beat 'em up called Gekido Advance - Kintaro's Revenge :[prebreak]1[/prebreak]

16 years later, and the game has been ported to the Nintendo Switch, this time with co-op gameplay and other new modes, such as Survival and Relic Hunting included:

It looks great and runs smoothly on the Switch, so if you feel like a trip down memory lane, or are into side-scrollers like Streets of Rage, give Gekido a whirl! It's a pretty tough game, but definitely still holds up in 2018!

Had no idea about the history of this game, i thought it was brand new when I saw it on the switch. Thanks for the background story @T-hug Hopefully more of these games will get the attention of classic companies like sega or capcom to actually get a new final fight or streets of rage game.

I can confirm it looks great and runs smoothly, because I've played it on GBA and Switch.
