I have some good news and some bad news.

Bad news: GeckoCodes.org, a site that let you download cheat codes for the Wii and GameCube, shut down for unknown reasons last night or early this morning.

Good news: RiiConnect24 has saved the day! Just like how we saved Spiffy360, a themes site by making https://theme.rc24.xyz/ - GeckoCodes now lives on https://codes.rc24.xyz/

This is all possible because we are proactive and have archived the site (even circumventing the DDoS protection)!

Enjoy!

Wow, what happened? Did James0x57 warned about it before shutting down the site?
I used it the other day and I didn't see anything like that... People still added codes currently, it's a pity.

Checking this mirror, is working fully or is a work in process? For example, I choose to see GameCube codes, it shows a Not Found error.

Edit: Apparently and fortunately, it seems the site was archived and there's a version of it from August in the Wayback Machine:

https://web.archive.org/web/20200824101759/https://geckocodes.org/

It's slow but it works.

I found out the reason why GeckoCodes shut down. Check the site again, it makes sense. https://geckocodes.org/

I guess if everything moves to https://gamehacking.org/ then we don't need https://codes.rc24.xyz/ but in the meantime I'll keep it up. Just when the shutdown was announced without an explanation, everyone panicked.

Dolphin, USB Loader GX and WiiFlow all used GeckoCodes.org, and I know people who are maintaining them, so I will help out and make sure they will be there.

Maybe a good Idea to inform @fledge68 and @blackb0x (our Friend @Cyan is maybe "not available"....)
Maybe they are so kind and make the next Releases with Support of one of the new Sources please.

Thank you.:)

Thanks for mentioning me, but like you said blackb0x's is more ahead of my version, if I release a new version just to change the url, that would make a newer version with less features than his.
users should look at his version instead. I'm not sure how to redirect users to his version. maybe a notice on both official thread and sourceforge's main page.

My version of USB Loader GX can still download cheats since I added a fallback over a year ago ;)

I'll eventually release an update that changes the main source to codes.rc24.xyz or a GitHub mirror. At the moment I've been taking a break so that my back recovers properly (I injured it recently).

How about supporting gamehacking.org? That seems like it would be optimal for the future.

Keep in mind that they originally added a DDoS protection layer that stopped loaders and Dolphin from downloading cheats. Once that was bypassed they removed it and instead started to redirect all HTTP requests to HTTPS, which made it impossible to download cheats with older homebrew. So it seems like the owner might not want applications to download cheats directly from their servers.

I originally added the fallback because geckocodes.org kept going offline, so at this point I'd rather use a reliable host that allows easy file downloads.

Not wanting scrapers is understandable, instead it's probably a better idea to try to cooperate with them to get an API or a simple way to download a .txt for a game.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask but can anybody send me a link of Ocarina .dol file? .elf files was discontinued and I need to add cheats manually.
