Visual tweaks would be just visible to you. Most patrons just want to be able to customize what is visible to them anyway; very few do it because they want a fancy name to show off. But a button that lets you delete a comment for a limited time would at some point be visible to the user, and without checks in place server-side to make sure the timer is respected, someone could make an edit to the CSS to make that button always visible. If the button is clicked, it will delete the post; what should be done is not just make a button that hides itself after 10 minutes, but to make sure that you cannot delete your post after 10 minutes, whether the button is visible or not. Regarding your Administrator role comment, as stated, you would see that you're listed as Administrator, but you wouldn't actually be able to do Administrator things, and you would be the only one to see that role on yourself, ergo, it's only visual, and only visible to you.
ooooooohhhh, so you don't just remove the button, you also make sure that the member cannot delete their comment otherwise.
Dude, I sure hope that whoever would code this to the site would make sure this does not happen. The same way that when you code a program/video game, you always expect the end-user to use it the dumbest way possible. You have to put some protection in place, that's for sure, and when I said "remove the *delete* button after 10 minutes", of course, they should put all the protection behind. That's basic stuff you know. Like, would you buy a safe, knowing very well that the lock is broken and doesn't lock? It looks locked, but if you pull the lever, it will open, no need for a PIN or anything.

Funny you should mention this, because this has actually been done before. xD You should watch some of LockPickingLawyer's videos on YouTube, a European lock manufacturer did this 'on accident' with their lock, never tested to see if the locking mechanisn actually worked. xD

Happened to me more than a few times, realising that I posted in the wrong thread/forum and then have to report my own post for it to get deleted.
That it!
This is same reason why i ask to add this delete option (temporary time cca. 30-60 minutes) for deleteing post + administrator/moderator can see what is deleted if someone wrote somting rude/wrong/danger...and can BAN this person for that...so please some administrator @Costello @shaunj66 to add this TEMPORARY delete option in 'edit post' section...

Thank you. :)

@Costello @shaunj66 not sure if this is a version error but forgot to mention. Had a softlock happen due to email being completely full and not able to get push notifications ie:being notified of a new pm via email. The system wouldn't let me update email at all had to contact a mod under a new account so they could fix it.

I believe this has to do with push notifications not being able to be emailed out so you risk your account getting softlocked with no way end user can make adjustments without making a new account.

Have you tried to, like, I don't know, delete some of your emails first?
