Wow, this game is terrible. I suck at it hard but it's not even fun. Usually I enjoy games that I suck at since I love a challenge, but I can't stand the finicky controls and messed up physics.

Tried 1st level, took 27 seconds (roughly) to get past, tried level 2, RAGE from the beginning after the first jump, that M stone thing was where I screwed up, say 5/6 times before quiting...

edit: restarted level 1, completed in 19 seconds, one try.

This game is pretty damned bad.
I mean there are hundreds of variations of the game but it boils down to this one having the most cumbersome physics engine and a bad control scheme, not worth my wasting my time playing something of such bad quality.

Try something good, like happy wheels instead.

Edit: Actually with some perseverance and practice, this game is entirely surmountable but pretty tough.
Some of the earlier levels seem a bit more bullshit than the later ones though, and it's pretty mean that you can get 0 points for taking too long.
The physics still work against you an awful lot though.

Edit: Balls, I got a score of 3504, but the arcade glitched and did not accept my score.

Edit: I persevered and got the top score of 4152, I'll probably give it another shot because of the levels I got 0 points on.
I guess I couldn't resist the challenge of overcoming something I thought was so flawed, but it really isn't when you get the hang of it.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
