GBAChef: Favourite type of pasta

My contention would be Pennoni is where it is at. Penne is nice but the bigger form works better for me.

You can keep your wholewheat pastas as well.

Being of Italian descent, I have to say that I like a majority of pastas that I've tried. Rigatoni is my absolute favorite, especially with a marinara/sausage/cheese sauce. Shit's delicious, yo

Then again, like Tom, I'm a good portion Italian, and I have yet to find a pasta I don't like.

But those are definitely the best.

Pasta?

I'm not a huge fan of pasta with sauces, but without them, I eat quite alot of pasta.

I especially like noodles (they count as pasta right?) ruote and the normal penne. All without any sort of sauce.

For what reasons are your favourites you favourites?

Mine is the pennoni as it holds sauce well, does not stick together/to the pan that well, drains fantastically and works well in a sandwich. Also when you are trying to burn the top lightly in a pasta bake then it works far better than your basic farfalle.

Mine either taste delicious when done up (gnocchi, cavatelli), what I'm used to (spaghetti, we use penne to make baked ziti), or holds sauce really well and sometimes clump up, which I love (conchiglie rigate)

I enjoy Penne Lische with alfredo sauce and served with fish on top usually salmon, anchovies, or herring.
