Hacking GBA to GCN linkage doesn't work on G6 Lite?

I have Pokemon Fire Red on my G6 Lite that I play on my GBA. I'm trying to link the game to my Pokemon XD game on my GameCube using the GBA to GCN link cable but it doesn't seem to work.

Is there some kind of patch to get it to work? Or is it a lost cause?

Not possible. The only way is with a real cart, because the GBA --> GCN link is started when the GBA game is turned on.

The link for the Pokemon GBA games starts when you are at the Title Screen of the GBA game. So it is possible. It's just that it gets stuck at the Attempting Connection screen.

I have a EZ2 card. On that, there is an option to not have a loader and only one game on the card. I dont suppose it is possible for G6 to do the same?
