Hello. Recently I received a well kept GBA SP from a friend. He did warn me that the speaker emits no sound, so I bought myself a thingamajig that connects a headphone jack to it. However, as it turns out, there's no sound from that jack either. Uh oh, I think, could something be screwed with the sound chip? But then, in my infinite brilliance, I connected the GBA SP to my PC using the headphone jack, activated the microphone boost... and there is indeed sound. But it's veeeeery quiet without the boost. Almost as if it's just set to the lowest volume. So my question is, before I inevitably take the guy apart, does anybody have any experience with such a thing happening? The volume switch has no effect, so I assume something is borked with that. Though, if anybody has any advice on what I should do to get this fixed, please explain it to my like i'm a complete dum dum, because I usually don't do anything like opening up a piece of hardware. Thank you.
Also, hope I posted this in the right section.
