ROM Hack GBA serial output

Hey, I want to make a LED panel. The display will be driven by an atmega and several LED drivers. But I need something else to do all the processing and input for any number of various games. Can the GBA do serial input and output to an atmega?

Is there any source code I can see? I'm only a beginner so I need code to look at

I am not all that familiar with the atmega stuff but http://nocash.emubase.de/gbatek.htm#gbacommunicationports is probably what you want to look at. http://www.cs.rit.edu/~tjh8300/CowBite/CowBiteSpec.htm might also be of use.

We saw more than a few serial port hacks and the like over the course of things so assuming the atmega kit does serial type communications (anything like this usually does) you should be good.
