Hacking Gateway site update

That doesn't seem to be true?
When I boot into Gateway mode via the .3dsx through MenuHax, I go straight to home menu instead of picking which GW mode to boot into.
From there, if I have my Gateway Red card insteads I can pick which game launching mode to useon the GW selector. If I insert a real game card I can boot that instead, although I won't get to enjoy the real time menu since this does seem to use hardware or storage on the GW card.
if you press and hold L while booting GW from menuhax, it will boot to GW menu
or, if you don't insert the Red card it will boot to GW menu.

This is really great news. Sounds like it should be any day now if their closing statement is "Thank you for your patience, get ready to ‘enjoy’!"

Just forget about it and continue your life as nothing had been written on the site. Trust me, it's better to not get your hopes too up.

Can someone explain what A9Hax is please?
Basically cold-boot emuNAND. There are several other threads here explaining it. I believe it's explained in a few different posts in this thread too, just go look it up.
Hmm, not entirely.

A9LH patches a very small file to SysNAND using information obtained by downgrading to a low firmware version.

It gets kernel access very early on boot and attempts to run whatever file is in SD:/arm9loaderhax.bin, so you could put a CFW there and launch EmuNAND in 8 seconds or so.

This also means you could get another software like Decrypt9 to have the ability to unbrick your sysnand (as long as the brick didn't touch FIRM0/FIRM1, and CFWs have options to block out any updates to those memory sections. You could even have a SysNAND CFW to increase boot/read-write speeds even more.

So whom is going to start the 'Countdown Train' -- Everyone onboard Cho-Cho.... -- Here we go again!

But you probably don't use retail carts, so you're not annoyed by the red card. But I do and I am. That's why I said exactly "It will never be unbeatable for those who are exactly annoyed mostly because it needs the read card on boot", good for you if you're not among those people.
And I don't use 5+ different CFWs, I only use AuReiNand.
I do use retail carts and for many reasons (hacks, functions etc) you are forced to have more than 1-2 CFW, be on different firmware versions etc....... basically, if you want everything from both worlds (legit things and illegal/forbidden) you are forced.

We aren't sure yet. Their prior statements don't help much either, as they have both mentioned a downgrade as well as 10.3 support, so we aren't sure if their "10.3 support" is really the downgrade.

By using common sense/pure logic, it should mean native 10.3 sysnand support. It would be stupid to implement an downgrade tool from 10.3 to 9.2 or older when we already have another tools/ways to downgrade from 10.7 to 9.2 etc.

That just doesnt makes sense......

Looks like it is true they told me they were first checking for 10.3 then they will move to 10.6/10.7.
That can take a long time.

you mean swapping the CFW that is inside emuNAND into the sysNAND will really "Increase boot/read-write speeds?" are you serious? :O
could you explain what exactly it actually improves? ingame loading times?? XD

Basically, due to hardware specs, reading/writing to/from the SD card is slower than reading/writing within the internal 3DS NAND. Any operating system-related tasks like entering the home menu, writing a .cia to home menu, system updates, etc are a tad slower due to relying on too many commands/operations being sent to/from the SD card.

ohwh man, you make me wanna swap my nands now on my n3ds :/

the thing is .. i am too lazy to backup my content, but also the process is very easy and i did it safely on my og3ds without backing up any content.

mmm...

Yeah, it's definitely not hard, but it's a lengthy process. Just find some time to get it over with and you won't regret it! (I think it's especially faster on N3DS, actually!)

Gateway doesn't revise the launcher very often, and I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing. Basic function has always been there. I think we get spoiled by some devs who update their projects often which causes us to feel all the devs need to update more often. While not free and there now being other alternatives available, I still feel it was a worthwhile investment as they have continued support as the scene has progressed and it is still extremely useful.

because of a9lh support announcement there is nothing what stops me to change to a9lh master race - but I might just get otp, restore backups and wait until gw a9hl is out

Thanks to OTPHelper and safeA9lhInstaller it's really safe.
I had no trouble getting the OTP of 3 3DS's where one even had a fragemented filesystem in the emuNAND which I never had thought if OTPHelper hadn't implemented such safety measures.

they said that they are sending Alpha builds and do not test it okay so we can expect leaks like the Omega update on first time so anyone has the alpha update upload itto thread
