Sky3DS will always be the best flashcard on the market!!! GW has nothing on them.

More near(er) than ever before. Sounds like another month. This is like groundhog day and the only thing on TV are telethon.

What concerns me is that GW a9lh will be fixed so that you'll need a GW to boot the system. Hope that isn't so.

Well ofcourse thats how its gonna go. Whats the point of even buying a GW card if you dont need to use it?

Yeah I don't think they're going to be as generous as they were with downgrading to 4.5 (a9lh modding could be a huge cottage industry at their expense). But I hope at least they'll allow for it to be uninstalled though so the 3ds's life isn't tied to the card working/not being lost.

edit: maybe they could also just hold back sig check patching if the red cart isn't in the slot. That would make the most sense.

They will make it compatible by releasing an a9lh compatible .bin file. If they make the a9lh install bind to the card that'd be an instant death to there business....

I get the feeling that their A9LH .bin file is going to be like their .3dsx file, simply a way to load Launcher.dat; either that or just a rewritten Launcher.dat. Regardless of their implementation, I highly doubt that they'll prevent booting the 3DS without the GW Red card. It'll simply be just like it currently is, sig checks are patched only if the GW Red card is inserted when loading GW Mode.

Huh, I never thought of that. Well I wouldn't say you need the GW to be in the system for it to boot, but probably you wouldn't be able to do anything desirable that you normally can't do without the GW card.

If it offers a compatible .bin a boot manager would work fine with it. Or you could launch it with luma 3ds chainloader to easily load gateway as a secondary option. (I hope)

Accurate, except it's "ditch Gateway and get CFW" or "I sold my Gateway to use the free CFW"

You know its Mother's Day this weekend in North America, and some other parts of the world.

So now is the perfect time in thinking about getting your wonderful mom into the world of 3DS Gaming, and showing her how much fun she can have with a Gateway 3DS flashcart alongside her shiny new N3DSXL that you were so amazing to get for her as perfect mother's day present.

    Until then.... :)
