I don't understand why people want Gateway to monopolize the flash cart market. As if they're the only team that can do things and if they get a little mad they're going to stop altogether. If anything this is great, as more people can work on it instead of just one team.

Not to burst anyone's bubble about the 3DS scene, but the people who would actually be doing the hacking already have the files. This is the Skiddie scene, not the hacking scene. It's likely a part of the Gateway 3DS exploit checks for their card to be able to run (gotta sell the $80 card) which is why retail games won't work when gateway mode is enabled. Someone with a little bit of know how might be able to work it so it reads from the SD card instead of the cartridge port or even release a region free version of the hack so that it just ignores the region of real cartridges.

Because it's okay to want to get/save as much money as possible when it comes to selling piracy devices, but it's not okay to want to save as much money as possible when it comes to using piracy devices. Duh.

Heard about it on IRC and I think it's rather interesting. At the moment this doesn't seem to be too useful, however if people can successfully figure out what it does (especially the ROP chains) then we'll have a 3DS CFW
That may take a while though. If anyone skilled enough is working on it and willing to release their info then it might happen soonish... but if not who knows.

Only people who have 3ds ram dumps can do anything with this. If you had a ram dump, it would be no work at all to decrypt loader.dat but the time consuming thing is deobfuscating the code. It is useless for the rest of us.

Not saying it's ban-worthy, but it's pretty damn spiteful nonetheless, at least in my opinion. If GW ceases production, we'll know who to blame.

Honestly I agree with whoever posted that link. There's no reason to keep it secret. For anyone properly interested in cloning the card, decrypting the thing is one of your lesser problems.

Well, fine, guess I can't argue with that. I just wish we had an exploit to run homebrew apps, such as Snes emulators, but it ain't gonna happen anytime soon.
