Will it ever be possible for 9.4 to be compatible with the downgrading process? Pretty much has to be if the New 3DS is going to ship with the latest FW in NA/EU.

I need 4.1-4.3 for AK2i to work to install DevMenu
You don't own a Gateway, do you? Gateway blue card works. The only package available right now for EUR consoles is 4.5, guess you could ask a friend to lend you a flashcard and install devmenu and that CIA file to make all blocked carts work again

Thanks for the reply tho.

only a question, with cfw, it's possible to launch ALL backups, Open homebrews, and play online?
and is possible to install .CIA?
I think you can't play all roms. I read that some people were struggling with specific games to work (don't remember which tho).

I don't know about Homebrew, the only way I know to launch Homebrew is to use Ninjhax, you could try...

Yes, you can install CIA using devMenu.

And it is possible to play online with CIAS, anyway not sure in CFW.

Okay, I know this thread is moving fast 'n furious so if this has already been covered, my apologies...
I restored my backed up 9.2 sysnand (by going back to gateway download option and holding UP when selecting),
then with my SD card removed, reformatted the 3ds back to a 'fresh' 9.2
then I set up my 3DS and linked my NNID again.
then performed the re-downgrade again from 9.2 to 4.2.
Reinstalled Gateway via BLUE card.
Boot back into Gateway mode and was able to access the eshop!
If I understand the steps:

You need to restore your backup NAND (back to 9.x on SysNAND). This Step is needed to have a SysNAND compatible with NNID setup! (4.x doesn't have NNID)
Format SysNAND
Link NNID
Downgrade again

So what the purpose of the the format SysNAND step?
If you restore your SysNAND to 9.x it's because your sysNAND is already unlinked, so don't you just need to link it again without formating?

unrelated question:
Can't you Format EmuNAND instead of SysNAND to unlink EmuNAND installed titles? (I guess user format realNANd because they have eshops games on EmuNAND, but you can format either ones, right?)

I don't know a lot about eshop and NNID myself (never used online features).
but I'm trying to update first post with easiest methods and reports about downgrade.

Does this mean If I install .CIAs to my emunand then upgrade Restore EmuNAND to SysNAND, I will be able to run the CIA's from my sysnand?
I think it will work.
The same way that you can install cia directly to Sysnand too, you don't need emuNAND.
Users install to EmuNAND to be safe and don't brick SysNAND.

When GW say only to do this if you have a hard mod for the NAND. Would this mean they're will be a safer downgrade option in the future?

I don't think so. A lot of people have successfully downgraded, and Gateway says that because this process has always been very risky in all consoles, you are touching your real NAND, if anything goes wrong, say goodbye to your console. If you have a hardware mod to inject your NAND backup, well, no matter what, because if you brick your console, you'll be able to make it work again.

But remember, it seems to work perfectly as no one bricked their 3DS using the 3.0.1 Gateway Launcher, DO NOT USE 3.0 , AS SOMEONE SAID HE BRICKED ONE OF HIS CONSOLES

Well their EUR DG file has the update nag, so I think until they fix that I won't be downgrading just yet.

I have an EUR 3DS too, but I don't care about the update nag on the dw file, because after Downgrading I will format sysnand to make it disappear and then make a backup of that NAND in case I need it later (:

NAG update hum? No nag update window after turning on my console. (4.5 eu after downgrade)
It makes me think about the possibility of that nag update being generated when people were in 4.5 and then updated with a cartridge or something and now the update is popping up again...
