You don't need separate partitions to pull this off - all you need are jumps to specific areas of the SD card itself. Sectors are individually addressed - all you need is the address of the start of the binary and its total length.

Yeah but that would be different for cards of different sizes and would depend upon the game size prior to the current Rom which is to be selected, though if specific areas are marked and are required to place ROMs at those particular places?

Or if Gateway could just develop a Rom loader :D

Setting up the SD for such operation is up to the Installer, as for the ROM loader, that's entirely within reach, however will take quite a bit of time (you need to create/port libraries).

A menu would require homebrew first. So until they announce homebrew, don't hold your breathe.

to be fair, they did say they are working on homebrew functionality (and since they have a kernel exploit, it seems like a real possibility that they could potentially do it)

Disclaimer . I dont have much knowlege on how this card works so i dont know if this is posible .
BUUUUUUT .
Wouldnt it be possible to do all of the processing and changes in DS mode .
The card would be recognized as a DS card , and all the menus and setting could be run by DS homebrew.
Then the card would soft-reset the system and be thus read as a 3ds card until a hard reset .
That would make the first post plausible by doing the hide unhide process in ds mode .
