Well, ever since the original Gateway 3DS topic got closed out of nowhere, new topics about Gateway have been appearing almost daily.

Of course, this could have been prevent. I proposed (back on the original Gateway topic), that the discussions were diverting from the original point. As such, a new thread should be created regarding any and all Gateway 3DS assumptions and hardware discussions.

No one agreed to do that. Now we have a mess.

Oooh! I was unaware. I'm sorry about that. Maybe it would be best to close my topic then, if it'd help the moderators here.

To be honest I don't mind it.

The harm is done. It is not your fault. I think the original topic should have been handled differently, and I think a "sister" topic would have helped keeping things organized.

If the moderators close this topic, another one will pop-up sooner or later.

My proposal is still on the table though, if a moderator finds it useful.

My friend, even though I generally support the Gateway cart, I don't recommend to pre-order. A lot of things can go wrong, especially if you are dependent on an update on their part to enable functionality on the newer than 4.5 firmwares..

I advise you to cancel your pre-order, and wait for the first reviews of the cart. Devin (a reviewer on this forum) should post his review soon.

So, at first it was June, then mid July. Now August? What could be so important in delaying? I pre-ordered last week because I've been on 4.5 for a long time, and am truly hoping the reviews are positive, and that this doesn't turn out to be a scam. Although, I've contacted the team 3 times, and they replied all three times, so that's a plus. Also, why did they close that thread regarding the Gateway 3DS?

I'm not doubting you, but where did you see "August"?

They've stated they're shipping their first batch of units this week. (This week, as in, within the next couple of days)

A few of the retailers have "beginning of August" in the product description. It could just be a placeholder, not sure.

Yeah, I still have Kid Icarus to keep me busy in the meantime. It's taken quite a bit longer than I expected since I'm... well, left-handed.

Hopefully this is the case, as I would like to get it tomorrow. After a long days work, I get two days to try out my new Flashcard :D
And yes, hackyourconsole.com stated it would come in August, but not sure if that's just the latest it could arrive.

Wanted to say the European version of Project X Zone was dumped, and it's confirmed to have the 4.4.0 update on it. I remember someone asking about that game.

Well, it might support the recent firmware eventually, however it'll take some time before they manage to do it.
Personally I'm not fond of this flashcart nor will I support it, so I'm hoping that it'll have at least a month of delay until it catches up to firmware, so I'm hoping when Pokemon gets released it'll have the latest firmware included, so that there's zero risk of people cheating (well, so far the Gateway appears to be purely 1:1, but it could end up allowing some cheating and I dislike that.

There's no way to tell, other than speculate since no one has dissected their hardware yet. Also, let's just hope for their official statements regarding this issue. Then again, if you want to play online or access eShop, then you'll have no choice but to update to the latest firmware.

What I really want to know is whether it IS confirmed that it's based on Yellow's exploit this would just tell me enough about the team's credibility.

Which exploit, your referring to the kernal one right? If they are using that one, then gateway is screwed TBH.

While I understand what you mean, I do not agree with your point of view.

Cheaters are everywhere. There will always be cheaters. They won't just disappear.

The fault lies with Nintendo and Gamefreak for not implementing decent (or ANY for that matter) anti-cheat measures on their games/devices.

NOT on Gateway cart, or any other cart that may come to fuition.

The thing is, this "device" is basically the same as the dongle that the ps3 first had that allowed games to be burnt to the hard drive and played. The only different was that later in life the firmware was fully cracked, keys obtained, etc. and we started getting CFW. While Gateway is cool, it's not a CFW or a true loader at the moment. I really don't see much "hacking" going on with this, it's not even in the same ball park as let's say a X360key for Xbox 360, as a linux optical driver emulator.

For those who purchase it, I hope you enjoy it, because it's bound to become as useful as the two NDS flashcards I bought, before buying my DSTwo.

Good luck.
