man i was so scared my emunand would mess up .. luckily nothing happened.. and bro when i used your method after i put the launcher dat on both the msd the one i have inside my n3ds which i have my cias and emunand in, and then i also put it in the formatted spare msd that i usually use for my gw card.

i did the following right after , i put the formatted msd which only has the devmenu.3ds file and the launcher dat, i put it inside my n3ds internal slot.

then i boot gw menu with my oot and then installed that vrn thingie ,right after that i placed my gw card inside the cartr. without any msd inside of it and then i boot gw mode but nothing happens black screen only :l.

i hope there is a safe way to get this to work, i followed the instructions of the Gateway Site perfectly :L but not doing it for me , meh.

Doesn't the 9.X System Settings app have more options than the 4.X System Settings App? Wouldn't it be more wiser to make a Cubic Ninja CIA from a ROM and install it? Does the Cubic Ninja exploit even work when the game is installed as a CIA?

Turn off N3DS. Remove back cover.
Remove N3DS-MicroSD card that has enuNAND.
Find blank MicroSD card and put the region-specific MSET file on the root of it, as well as the new launcher.dat.
If you haven't installed FlashCardTimewarp.cia, find that too and put it on this MicroSD card, next to the MSET cia and Launcher.dat.
    Find DevMenu.3ds, not BigBlueMenu.3ds.
Put DevMenu.3ds onto the MicroSD card that's in the Gateway cartridge.
Put the formerly-blank MSET MicroSD card into the N3DS and the DevMenu.3ds MicroSD card into the Gateway.
    Power on.
Use Cubic Ninja or Zelda exploit to get into Gateway Menu.
Select "NVRAM Install" and proceed with instaltion. This will install to sysNAND, because the emuNAND card is not in the N3DS right now, and that's what we want.
    Put Gateway cartridge into N3DS.
Start Gateway Mode and launch DevMenu.3ds (by pressing select).
Import the MSET CIA to install it to sysNAND (from the second tab).
If you haven't installed FlashCardTimewarp.cia before, install it now.
    Turn off N3DS.
Take out the MicroSD that's in the N3DS (behind the back cover) and replace it with the emuNAND MicroSD (ie the one that was in there before)
    Turn on N3DS.
Go to Settings > Profile > Nintendo DS Profile to start the Gateway Menu.
    Fit back cover again.

NB: Running a DS game will erase the DS Profile Exploit. If this happens, use the Blue Card and run Gateway Installer.

Do I need to update the save file used for the OoT or Ninja Hax for the N3DS?
Also before attemping this, I guess I will have to back-up emuNAND and sysNAND.

Good to hear no one has bricked there system, only failure to boot or messing up emuNAND. Which are all fixable.

Tbh, there isn't much more to add to the step to step guide.

To anyone who's having issues, here's what I did:

    1) Copy the mset cia for your region to the INTERNAL microSD of your N3DS.
    2) Get a spare microSD and format it.
    3) Copy launcher.dat to the root of both the new microSD and the one you're using in your N3DS.
    4) Copy DevMenu.3ds to the GATEWAY microSD. Make sure it's DevMenu and not BigBlueMenu. If it says Title Manager it won't work!
    5) Insert the new microSD into your N3DS internal card slot. (The one with nothing on it. just to be sure)
    6) Boot your N3DS, wait for it to create the necessary files on your microSD, it will say creating home or whatever.
    7) Start the gateway launcher by using Zelda or Cubic Ninja.
    8) Select "Install NVRam" and let it finish.
    9) Insert your Gateway into your N3DS, boot Gateway mode.
    10) Press select, choose "devmenu.3ds" (Bigbluemenu didn't work for me, might work for you, if you need a devmenu that worked for me; (*SNIP, look for it on your own*)
11)When in devmenu, press the right arrow on your 3DS once, and it will take you to a new menu, where you can choose (mset."your region")
    12. Press A, and it will start to install
    13. shut down your 3DS, and remove the New SD we used for this process. It has served it's purpose and is no longer needed. Put in your Old 3DS SD with your EMUnand.
    14. Start up your 3DS, you will be in sysnand. Go to system settings, and choose "Other settings > "Profile" > DS profile
    15. If everything worked, you should be in EMUnand at this point!

Credits to DarkKaine of course for the original step by step guide.

It's already been stated, but I can confirm that using a separate N3DS MicroSD to import the CIA from will leave your system settings on EmuNAND untouched. The profile exploit works great!

Yeah, and how are you going to run an unsigned CIA in sysNAND exactly ?

Looks like I am using this method. Hopefully no one stuffs the MicroSD cards by removing them without properly ejecting them.

I just installed the old MSet, and everything works fine. For those that use the Micro SD Transfer CIA (The official nintendo transfer too or whatever, only not launched with system settings) works fine too.

This should also allow O3DS users to launch via system settings as well, but don't take my word for it. The reason it should work is that the system settings cia is the same for both the O3DS and N3DS (since the N3DS was never on 4.5).

I haven't tried it on the O3DS however, so I can't say for sure it will work

ok.. ill try to explain it... keep the msD you use for your emunand somewhere safe.. make sure it has the mset cia from your region..... on another msD card...(use a 4gb one) format it and put devmenu.3ds also put the launcher 3.2 in it... with the 3ds off put that card into the 3ds.... boot into the GW menu.... go to the far right and install the nvram thing..... once it finishes put an empty red card into the card slot and boot into GW mode... once there remove the msD card and put that card into the GW Red Card... hit select and dev menu will appear.. hit A.... find the mset CIA from your region and install it... exit and reboot... and find the ds profile.....

    thats great
now i am wondering why they have not yet released a temporary launcher (their initial ultra beta with their broken miimaker exploit) for people without CN or OOT

seems like it would be able to work just enough for people without a CN or OOT cart to be able to install the MSET DS profile exploit .cia on their N3DS
then they could just switch the launcher back to 3.2

have they even updated the profile installer with the n3ds payload? and also for people to use the blue card they have to of installed a older nds whitelist or flashcardtimewarp.cia otherwise they will need to use oot or CN to reinstall the profile exploit

Does this launch exploit for N3DS only work for N3DS? It would be cool to not have to launch tethering on my phone for my OG3DS.

UpdateCDN and 3DNUS can't seem to download the System Settings v8202 3DNUS gets to a quarter bar and just stops and UpdateCDN gives 404, would that be because nintendo's servers are down at the moment?

Yep, they'll need to install FlashCardTimewarp if they haven't already. That can be done straight after importing the MSET CIA.

EDIT: Edited the instructions to reflect that for new users.

Why not just restore NAND ? It's probably faster (no you won't lose any of your games/saves/whatever).
