A friend of ours has purchased a Nintendo DS Lite for their 6 year olds birthday and I was quick to convert them to the dark side in getting them to buy a flash cart.

Now, the question is, what game are suitable for a 6 year old? Maybe I should say 6-8 year old because I think it is worth putting on a few games that they'll grow into.

So far we have Mario and Lego games on the card.

But what else? Anybody got little ones who play the DS and can let me know what they like to play?

Personally my 6 old plays the Gameboy Micro and the Wii... I don't trust him with his own DS Lite just yet... maybe soon...

I think some games based on cartoons/tv series, Like: Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends - Imagination Invaders , Cartoon Network Racing, Avatar [All], Viva piñata [Maybe not... ], Animal Crossing, Chibo-robo Park Patrol [Maybe not... ], Drawn to Life (Spongebob Edition too), Soul Bubbles, My sims, Spongebob Games, All games related to Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, etc.

I hope this will help

Yeah, that's smart. Turn a 6 year old into a pirate and teach them future lessons to go download illegal backups.
Anyways,

As for the games, I would suggest:

GRID
Animal Crossing:Wild Worlds
Mario Kart
Carnival Games
and Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir

I don't think the kid will get the effect of piracy Brian117 for a while

. I would say,

Mario Kart
Layton's Curious Village
Pokemon Pearl\Diamond
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon
Mario 64 DS
Tetris
...

NO.

Put an NES emulator & etc. on there. Don't let him play new stuff until he has played through the classics.
epic, i agree. you need to teach your son some history lesson first >: o

Put on games that he will recognize, like games that are based on tv series.

Drawn to life, and the spongebob one should definately be on there.

Any game that you have played that is extremely easy.

Any/all mario games should probably be on there.

Kirby games are also extremly easy (well canvas curse can be a bit harder, but the others are easy) Kirby Squeak Squad and the new one coming out would be good choices.

Not sure what else there is thats easy.

Yes. So go ahead and take a trip down to the arcade and look for pong. LOL

Nintendogs would be a good one too.
But I do agree with Epic, apart from Rock Band, I will not be letting my daughter play any recent games until she has played through some NES staples, then some SNES/Genesis staples, then some PSX/N64 staples....

She's only 3 months old and I'm planning out her gaming XD Poor thing...

^Are you aiming for a pro gamer or what? Lol

I just feel she should appreciate the older games before enjoying the newer ones...

Clubhouse Games has some good games on it for kids, but theres a few advanced ones on there that might annoy/confuse them...

Is six too old for Dora the Explorer? I mean, I love it, but there's probably a gap between six and my age where watching Dora just isn't cool any more. Anyway, there's at least one Dora game for DS.

How about Super Mario DS, Lumines, Meteos, Tetris, or Plug in an emulator and place say...Rampage World Tour?
