I installed everything, and burnt my games onto a DVD-R disk. Now my games work fine except they are all in black and white. The GC backup launcher's menu is black and white and keeps flickering but as soon as I choose my game, they all work fine but they are in black and white but don't flicker.

To summarize, my GC games from the GC backup launcher work, and don't flicker but they are all in black and white as if they were PAL games running on my NTSC Wii which they are not. Although one game, Mario Power Tennis I can only see for about 5 seconds and then I can only hear it.

So both your Wii and GC games are NTSC?

Strange...

A similar thing happened with my old TV.
Maybe your TV is incorrectly detecting the video mode of the data it's receiving.
This will most likely be tht case if the TV's video mode/color setting is set to "auto".

Try changing your TV's AV channel's video mode/color setting to always display in NTSC instead of autodetecting which video mode to use.

This happens to me too,

If you're using component cables, make sure you use Backup Launcher 0.2
If you're using composite cables, use 0.1 XI

And always burn NTSC games.

Good Luck!

Wait a minute. I just figured out that the first game on my multiiso is a PAL version of Mario Tennis but everything else is NTSC. Is there are program that let's you check your iso's region? What should I do?

its the backup loader

you need to burn a single NTSC game onto a single disc.
insert the game when the loader asks
then the loader will be in color

swap out the game for the multiISO disc and play in color.

edit: or you can just install DARKCORP and its cMIOS and enjoy color gamecube loading from the disc channel

I see what's going on...

I did some further reading earlier, and WiiGator's rungcbackup checks the GC disc's region while still in Wii mode and changes the video mode accordingly before going into GC mode...

There's a chance it's detecting your Mario Tennis as PAL (either that or your multidisc's region itself is PAL) and setting the video mode to PAL beforehand.

Just do what xzxero posted and you should be fine.

You have at least 3 choices:
- Do some trickery with a single game NTSC disc
- Use Waninkoko's cMIOS
- Use WiiGator's cMIOS + latest NeoGamma GC mode 'internal'

The loader inside NeoGamma is just a bit modfied version of WiiGatots', it should allow to force NTSC video mode at least on NTSC games, and if you are lucky on some PAL games as well.

Well, it's not a new cMIOS, but either wanin's cMIOS or WiiGator's GCBL embedded into cMIOS. It's explained in the DARKCORP README.

Okay, so I burned a NTSC game on to a single disc. Now do I put in the (single) disc after starting up the loader? Or do I put it in before even turning on my Wii? And at what point exactly do I swap it out for my multidisc? After the game has loaded?

Put the single disc in the Wii at sysmenu, then when the GCBL screen appears, switch it for the multidisc, then start the game you want from said multidisc.

In the future, if you make another multidisc, make sure all the games on it are the same region, and make sure that the multidisc itself (rather that the games within) has NTSC region.

I personally do not use multidiscs at all.
