so i have everything ready and the gamecube games load on the screen but when i try to play it it will just enter a black screen, is there any cmios i need? ive never been able to figure it out but want to be able to
First of all you have to tell us what you are trying to load GC games from. SD card? USB? DVD?
And what loader you are trying to use. cMIOS? DIOS MIOS? Devolution?
DVD: Your only option is a cMIOS.
SD Card: DIOS MIOS Lite or Devolution.
USB: DIOS MIOS (not Lite, regular one) or Devolution.
And note that Devolution requires a copy of the original disc for verification so if you're a dirty pirate that's not an option for you.
Either of the DIOS MIOS versions depending on what you are loading from should work for your purposes, as long as you have a GC controller and memory card. You have to install the corresponding version for GC backups to load.
If you have the right version of DIOS MIOS installed and the games still don't load, then try patching them with Gamecube ISO Tool (using File-Extract option and either GCReEx or DiscEx format after opening the ISO) and putting them on your SD Card/USB in the games folder. If you've already patched them for DM with any of the available tools you can ignore this.
And lastly you need to pick the correct GC loader method in your USB loader.
If none of this helps then your backups may be bad dumps, dump them again or obtain them from a different source.
